You may select more than one choice.
If you are careful on what files you open up, you really don’t need to have a anti-virus program in my opinion. To be on the safe side, AVG Free is good to use and it’s free. If you have folks like me that open up every email file that ANYONE emails them ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />, then I would recommend Trend Micro. I have tested it on XP and Vista and it works great.

Sorry bradz im going to have to disagree with you here unless you are using a mac…
The difference between the two systems is that, while there are like 2 or 3 virus’ ever made for a Mac, EVERYTHING has to be confirmed to run on a mac whereas on a machine running windows, something can run by itself in the background.. Kudos to Apple for this..
Even if you are the most careful person in the world, without virus protection i can guarantee that you will get a virus at some point, unless you’re not connected to the internet and don’t open anything external to that already on your machine…
I used to use McAfee and Nortons, but found that Norton took up far too much space, and McAfee didn’t pick up as many threats as the others.. AVG is not bad for a free program, but I’m paranoid and have a theory that you get what you pay for in terms of internet security…
Trend Micro has been the best that I’ve had so far.. I have pc-cillan at home and some other version in the office.. doesn’t use up too much space and performs better than any others I’ve tried…
Never tried NOD32 but have heard good things about it.
I think another thing you need to remember is that if you’re running windows you NEED to make sure the updates are installed… you might think that because you have virus protection it doesn’t matter but the updates are mostly there to patch the vulnerabilities in the OS and this can sometimes be a lifesaver… you dont need to get a virus to be vulnerable to attack.
Made me wonder what I was paying $99/yr for?
