We uploaded an xml site map on webmaster tools of about 65 odd pages some time back and recently added about 30 more pages to the site. 3 days ago, we re-submitted the site map with all 95 pages but for some reason we have dropped on the SERPS.
Prior to submitting the site map 3 days ago, we ranked well (page1 and 2) on google.co.za and sometimes on google.com for most terms Gambling, online casinos,SA casinos, online gambling, casino bonuses, etc etc
Now for some reason, we are no where to be seen when searching for these terms on google sa and .com. Any ideas why we’ve dropped off?
Thanks guys
how bad have u dropped? dropping back 2 pages is not uncommon.. G is a weird and fickle creature!
Could it not be that becoz we re-submitted the old pages again? along with the new ones?
Bloody google!! who made them the kings of the internet

It’s not necessary to re-submit your site map each time you update it.
Is it really true that you should host your site in the country you are targetting?
Does this carry any weight for SERPS or does it not matter where in the world your site is hosted?
Thanks in advance
Sometimes a deleted but important line of text on your homepage can have an affect on rankings. Check backups.
Hosting loc. for better spec. rankings ? No not that i know of.

Google has to “slurp” these before you see improvement happended to me several times. 30 pages is a lot in a short time, do it gradually next time.
I could be wrong but too much content at once is not that good if the ratio is high between new/old content 30/65.

Yeah – it seems we have dropped between 2-4 pages for terms that we used to rank well…The weird thing is that only when we submitted the sitemap, the drop was evident.

I doubt it had anything to do with your sitemap. Google is always changing their SERPs. One time I dropped out of the Google for a day or so, and then it popped back up to a better placement.
My suggestion is to keep adding quality content.
