So i know that i and many others in the business have tried (at least years ago) to advertise on adult sites looking to find gamblers, with little or no success. It’s pretty clear that a guy looking at porn won’t suddenly be drawn away from it for a game of poker. We tried mens’ sites like Maxim which are more lifestyle than porn, to no success.

Recently Harrahs took over the Casino in Windsor and renamed it Caesars Windsor. Here is an ad they’ve been running on tv in Detroit (yes canada is next to Detroit) for the casino.

Maybe i’m getting it wrong here, but if i go gambling and partying at Caesars i’m going to pick-up a hot blonde for the night?

So, i’ll bet it works for a land based casino better than online. opinions?

Sex and Gambling don’t seem to mix.

I’ve seen a few adult affiliate programs try to target gambling affiliates (strip poker theme) and vice versa. It never works.

Men, can you imagine watching online porn and playing a hand of online poker at the same time? It would defeat the purpose:wink-wink

Just gotta put in my 2 cents. :wink-wink
I was just thinking about bodog, seems the advertising angle they use, beautiful women = sex = gambling has worked pretty well for them. I don’t see them reaching out to women gamblers…..it’s clearly men that they are going after and it seems to work really well for them.

sipka has the correct answer, only girls can multi-task properly. Maybe another reason is that throwing in the girls (who are there for show and will not sleep with you) distract the guys in a bad way. What I mean is that they know in the back of their minds they probably will be losing money to the casino, so they see this lure and maybe their defenses go up thinking they are really getting tricked.

IMO our industry advertizing should not be mixed up with that adult stuff, this will only put our business in another kind of category we sure do not wanna be in and compared with. It is next to alcohol not a smart way to anaesthetize customers while playing for money if you want to see online gambling to get more respect and regulation.

I think online gaming is about winning/money as the reason for playing, where going to a land based casino ALSO involves socializing, being seen, feeling special.

This is pretty much how I would sum up the differences.
