byebyebaby asked 4 years agoI have good meta tags, I update my websites regularly, I have google webmaster tools I submitted my sites to search engines, I use link exchange, I post on forums where I am allowed to advertise.
But my visitors are NOT coming????
Can someone please help me?

Internal backlinks are not as important to Google as external backlinks. That is not to say that internal links aren’t important.
I believe, for the majority of sites, it is fair to think of the differences between internal and external backlinks as follows:
Internal backlinks assist search engines to find and categorise the importance YOU place on a choice of pages within your own site whereas external links define, in an unbiased way, what the true importance of your pages is within the structure of the wider web.
The reality is that within our industry internal links mean little when it comes to ranking well whereas in extremely uncompetitive industries and niches within niches internal backlinks MAY be all that is required, but even then that is a rare occasion and will generally only occur on sites that have mega status / oomph, such as Wikipedia!
