I’m not sure if I’ve started this thread in the right area, but I was wondering if someone knew what the limits are for “percentage of similarity” in the various search engines.
What I mean by percentage of similarity, is how similar one page on your site is to another, for example 2 articles which you have written on the same subject.
I have found a very nice tool for checking this http://www.webconfs.com/similar-page-checker.php but it doesn’t explain what the limits actually are for each of the search engines.

” The exact percentage of similarity after with a search engine may penalize you is not known, it varies from search engine to search engine, Your aim should be to keep your page similarity as LOW as possible.”
I am sure that search engines wont punish a site for using the names of the games exactly as found on a casino site. But what about: Get Your 320% welcome Bonus! or something similar?
It would be nice to have some clarification on this point.

Wanted to add something to the thread, besides content similarity I think we should also consider coding similarity. It is my approach the SE’s punish site owners ALSO for q high percentage of similar HTML code on pages. Which are in SE “eyes” template pages with no real content, just my two cents.
i have heard up to 50% same content was allowed,
also heard being penalized for having the same footer or disclaimer on every page (boilerplate)
i realy do not think the code or template is being considerated as content and looked at it this way
people even complain the links in their left- or uppermenu wich do apear on every page, part of the template, are not seen or counted by the searchengines
my 2 cents
If i find any more info I will be sure to post it here.
