Is Negative SEO for Real?

JillO asked 4 years ago
Very interesting question proposed here:

Can your competitors use Negative SEO to tank your page rank?

It’s strange, Google has always denied the existence of SEO… but personally, I feel like there’s a lot of examples of it happening out there.

Interested in hearing the community’s SEO focused affiliates & their thoughts on Negative SEO. Is it fact or fiction?

It is a Fact !

Google denies alot of things and down the road we find out it is true ( most pro google people say well they changed it after they told us that lol)

however the older the site the more work is needed to give it negative SEO
most sites under a few months could be destroyed in a week !

I didn’t know Google denied SEO existed!

I am not even sure why everyone is treating this issue as something new. It was less than two months ago that an article was posted here – Cases of Negative SEO – clearly illustrating that there is such a thing as negative SEO. It doesn’t matter who does it to whom, it exists.

Not only does it exist, it also seems like something that can be done quite easily and cheaply if you know where to go for such services. It probably takes quite a lot to hurt quality sites but I’m sure there are ways.

Negative SEO has been around for as long as SEO … as long as you have been able to harm your own site with external factors (on on-page aka hacking) then it has existed … still cannot believe how many people have drank the cool-aide over the years and think Google is infallible
