How Being “Friends” On Google+ Leads To Better Rankings
Social Signals NEED to part of any SEO strategy and this includes your link development … Yes, Link Building needs Social Signals as well … its not simply about on-page ranking factors … the pages that link to you pass equity based on their own weight and stimulating this will increase the LTV (life time value) of a link.
I highly recommend the following networks for use in Socialization:
- Facebook (like & share)
- Digg
- StumbleUpon
- Kristi
- LinkedIn (if business related otherwise do NOT use)
- Google +1
- Yahoo Buzz
The usage of social buttons on-page is an influencer as well – metrics are measured and weighed with interaction.
Also, do NOT forget user comments and bounce rates – if you can induce a click beyond the page the signal may have additional weight

Social Signal are simply not all about links … they are signals of social interaction and user engagement which in themselves act as votes of confidence – almost like a link, but without being a link.
