i have paid a hosting at Bravenet
well i am a totally newbie in bulding a website
and somehow i find this bravenet not so easy,
as i seen there are some others like freeweb where you easily built something up.
I have already bought my URL, and figured some other things out.
Hope i am not the laugh here now,
but could anyone suggest me a good host for beginners,
and a step be step guide or something like that.
thanks
Marina
this sounds interesting
lol
thanks for the tip ladyholdem
a UK host wwould be sure interesting,
but i would need one which i could pay via paypal
i do not have a CC by now.
waiting hard on the neteller new debit card
that one will be a master card and it should be possible then to pay such things on the net hm?
Another question,
where can i hire someone
who teach me a bit building a website.
Or maybe there are some people who designing a webpage for me total
and just show me some little things to do changes.
i really need to learn all from the begin..lol
i read and read about on several sites
and i tell you with all this words i feel like in a jungle,
due english is not even my mother language.
i run a forum for now
and i love it , but it needs a lot of my time
and somehow i do get a lot people who are searching only for freebies.
Now i want to try it with a webpage,
where i do not mention the word free to much.
I Want to thank here all the great member from CAP board
this board and the info you all find and post helps a lot. :hattip:
in UK
60 euros….45 pounds….75$ a year
very secure and g00d
(and cpanel)
I like hostgator. It’s cheap, it’s always up, sites never down. $15 a month I think total… 30 sites or so.
Unlimited domains (there is a bandwidth limit, so far so good) I bought the middle package, because.. well I always order medium.. I don’t want the smallest, I don’t need the biggest ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” /> ..
Anyway, I pay them with a paypal subscription and that’s handy… if I have 10 ideas for new sites, and 9 of them suck, no harm done, no extra hosting costs..
They have Cpanel, which is handy for beginners.. it has fantastico which makes it pretty simple to install new scripts (like wordpress.. forums.. etc) it walks you through email set up.. etc… but you’ll fnd that most hosts offer cpanel and fantastico, just check out their sites ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” /> The price is pretty comparable with shared hosting like i’m using as well.. so if you find it cheaper, and it looks like a skin of hostgator, it probably is.
On the negative side, their customer service rather sux, they aren’t real friendly, if I call and get some guy named Chris, Im ecstatic, because he usually knows what the hell i’m talking about.
I don’t call customer service real often, so I don’t generally give a damn if they’re all suffering from pms.. if you think you’ll need lotsa help, then the price probably isn’t worth the headache.
The other negative aspect is that all of my sites share IP’s .. I didn’t spring for dedicated hosting. It’s an option though, at a much higher price ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />
