It just happened not that long ago, so is estimated for the end of January. For me, it was a bust. I got higher PR on all my sites and then it was all rolled back. ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />
Although your PR maybe rolled back this may be only temporary this would apply also to indexed pages getting the boot. I would expect this to last as Kwblue stated at least to the end of January, 2007.
Combined with the million of complaints and drop in revenues Google has no other option but to take some aggressive action. I have noticed my backlinks are slowly being cleaned from spam, over a thousand removed porn sites removed. Basically Google has had enough and will be taking the boot to spammers.
At the end Google will be a cleaner SE for a while anyway. As stated in a previous post some programs who utilize spam techniques stand a good chance of being removed.

G&C has had a PR of 5 forever and it makes never no mind of a difference.
SERPS make a difference, PR is for the birds.
but your pr influences this
(with pr i dont mean the “toolbar-pr” , wich is a nice little green entertainment thingy anyway, lol)

In terms of SERPS I agree. However I think PR is undervalued in navigational terms – I do believe it is a good indicator of the effectiveness of your internal site navigation. Beyond that….:baby:

Your right, but remember, with good PR is more easy to get boog backlinks in link exchanges.. :shakebutt

Wanna bet google will crack down on that sometime in the near future?
It’s already obfuscating links as best it can, trying to confuse the issue.
Not an easy feat for google to sort this, but I have no doubt they are trying and sooner or later they will succeed. Now they are concentrating on blackhatters, and they are far from done there.
So, meanwhile, yes, you are right, it helps getting good links. And they are important when climbing up the google ladder. But don’t count on that to last, always be careful who you link to and check why the PR is high. Is it because the site deserves it or is it a linking scheme?

huh??????
Google reported a profit that nearly doubled on revenue that soared 70 percent to $2.69 billion.
That has to be it’s long term policy if they are going to have people search and be satisfied, and the success depends on the number of searches.
If google would lose sight of that, they would eventually slip.
I am quite sure they are fully aware of that, it is the base of their success.
