The Google patent is very interesting. It was a major topic of discussion at WMW recently. The concensus was that they have filed for all “possible” algorithm calculations and that while they may well use them in the future, there is no guarantee that they will now. Some people went s far as suggesting that now the patent is in the PD, they will not use a lot of it.

But either way, its a good read and definately has a lot of insightful points.
