Casino Specific Conference?

Andy – bet365affiliates asked 4 years ago
The poker affiliates and operators are having the inaugural Poker Conference in Limassol, Cyprus this year, and it looks set to become and annual event. So my question to you guys is this:

Seeing as the Casino Affiliates Conferences are regularly attended by affiliates representing all major products, do you think it’s time for a dedicated casino conference, with a completely casino dedicated agenda, etc, and more importantly, would you attend?

There are multiple selections to be made, so choose those relevant to you:

Perhaps the better question would have been something along the lines of: who thinks current conferences are too generalised across gambling products, and should be re-thought in the style of the poker conference…

hey Alex

this is a great idea!

perhaps you could talk with some of the programs and get them to pitch in and make it a day to remember for everyone!

programs spend money on taking affs out on trips and what not anyway during conferences so why not get everyone involved and have a massive day of it!

For Barcelona I am thinking of organising a mass tourism day – Not crazy just something that gets everyone out in the daylight (Aggghhhh) hanging out together seeing the city we have flown all that way to see and finishing somewhere late afternoon where we can have a few chilled out well deserved drinks – Personally I think it could work really well in so many ways

I also think the existing conferences for me as a European citizen are enough (London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Moscow), but I would love to have an extra day for each. There are always so many people I need and want to talk to, but the time is simply not enough.
Is that just me or am I correct?

Must admit the 3rd day is usually a bit of a “dead day” – would be good to have a 3 day expo but I’m not sure the operators would be too keen on that knowing the work that goes in <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

We find it more cost effective for the sponsors and attendees to have a multi faceted show. We have 3 major shows, 2 regional events and our annual spring break scheduled for 2009. We also have two poker conferences planned for 2009. If you add in ICE and G2E then you have more then enough high quality events to attend. There is a limit to how much travel people are willing to do in a year.

I really don’t see why some of these conferences can’t fall under one roof. Sure poker could be represented in one area but I don’t think that needs to be the case. Logistically I think it would make sense to try to add them up to 1 main conference but I haven’t seen the evolution of these conferences so it is tough for me to judge where I think they should change or improve.

We promote everything but sportsbooks as well and it would be too much travel to hit up each individual conference, unless of course it was close to home.

I’d probably go if it was in a decent place as I love going to the conferences, but being casino-specific doesn’t really worry me…I like to keep up with what’s happening in Poker, Skill games and Bingo.
