Guys I dont know about the rest of you, but I am having my worst month for revenue that I can remember, certainly the worst over at least 4 years.
Player revenues have basically stopped and in many cases reversed as to what they were prior to Oct 13th.
I cant imagine next month being better. If this trend continues I will be looking for another job in short order.
October 23, 2006 at 12:55 pm #713050AnonymousInactiveI am having a terrible month as well. I’m projecting to be down about 60 % month-over-month, but that is considering that my sites were active prior to 10/13 (I have disabled since then). Since my revenue was based on a mix of CPA and REV, I am projecting a montly rev stream of about 25 % of what I was doing. That’s with no new players signing up, so that will eventually wither over time.
I AM working on my new job. I am looking to venture back into the affiliate retail business, although I’m not sure which businesses yet. Lots of competition, and the margins are considerably less. Basically, I’m starting from square 1 again, but I need to do something.
And I working on my new book, “From Riches to Rags – the story of an American Affiliate Marketer”. 25 % off the cover price to all CAP members

October 23, 2006 at 1:34 pm #713056AnonymousInactiveHorrible month for me. This months is equivalent to my first 3 months starting into this business All players of any size are gone (I checked and apparently are all from one of the 11 states).
I am going to keep trying, though, until the $$$ in doesn’t equal the amount of $$ it takes to host the sites.
October 23, 2006 at 1:37 pm #713057AnonymousInactiveYou guys need to stop leaking players to places that won’t take them anymore.
I know G&C is adjusting listings constantly.
I know G&C lost all it’s flat fee listings (all playtech or british) but I understand the other revenues are normal.
October 23, 2006 at 1:47 pm #713059vladcizsolMemberDom there is nothing normal about this month for most of us. Our existing player bases have been decimated. This has nothing to do with leaking players. For Rev Share affiliates it takes months to build up a base of paying players. Once that base is established you start earning decent revenues.
The problem is most of us (everyone Ive talked to) has had the legs kicked out from underneath them and have essentially lost almost all of their quality players.
This means starting from square one in a hostile enviroment. It couldnt possibly be a worse scenario. (Well ok, if all the MGS and RTG closed that could be worse, but not by much)
I am actually upside down in costs versus income this month by a very wide margin. Obviously thats not maintainable as a business model.
October 23, 2006 at 2:04 pm #713062AnonymousInactiveYes, this month is horrible. Up till the 13th it was going okay then it has come almost to a stand still. Next month is going to be a disaster to say the least. Then when Neteller does pull out it will be the end as we know it. I tried signing up for Click2pay only to be lock out imediately with no reason given as yet.
October 23, 2006 at 2:07 pm #713063AnonymousInactiveI am actually surprised that I am having a slightly above
average month … I do get good Euro traffic though.
I think also it depends on the who you are promoting
that is still accepting u.s. players.Professor you getting another job ???
Remember Different Strokes
” What you talking about Louis ??? “

October 23, 2006 at 3:06 pm #713067AnonymousInactiveIm no where near most of your sizes but im actually up so far this month.
Probably due to my top sites staying with usa players and the fact that I have very little exposure to casinos.
October 23, 2006 at 3:46 pm #713069AnonymousInactiveDominique wrote:You guys need to stop leaking players to places that won’t take them anymore. The day the Bill was signed I set up my casinotabs site to channel players more by State and to a slightly lesser extent Oggs too – you’ll see what I mean if you visit both. And as of today, my US signups are up on last month by about 25% and my revenue about 10% at the same stage. Until I did that, I was down about 30% on where I’d expect to be.
It took some fine-tuning, but looking at my logs, I’d guess about 80/90% of US players are now leaving my site for a casino that will accept them.
As a side note, and confidential please please please, a number of the MG casinos have lobbied MG to re-examine NY and NJ restrictions and their lawyers are looking right now with a possible view to removing the restrictions.
October 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #713071AnonymousInactiveNY would make a huge difference.
October 23, 2006 at 4:02 pm #713072AnonymousInactiveIncidentally I’d be happy to give anyone a spreadsheet of around 150 casinos with restrictions in place in return for a link on each site you use it. I won’t guarantee the info, but I’m pretty confident it’s accurate so email me [email protected] if you want it.
It has 3 columns: casino, a Y/N column indicating if they take US players and a State Restrictions column. Quite simple to use with a PHP script or simply as a manual lookup.October 23, 2006 at 9:03 pm #713112AnonymousInactiveI am really surprised and was really scared shitless about what this month would bring and I can say it has turned out to be ok, most of our players must be saying screw you uncle sam and playing like mad! We are down about I say 10%, much better then what I thought would happen.
October 23, 2006 at 11:15 pm #713134AnonymousGuestHi,
ya I’m down a bit not as bad as it sounds like others are feeling it.
I think one reason is that my main earners have all been programs that have not pulled out of the us market – the 11 states of course.
that said, I’ve begun to start targeting outside the states though that shouldn’t have much impact on this month or next for that matter as it will take me a bit of time to get things organized and going in that direction.
