I was checking the backlinks to one of my sites in Google’s webmaster tools when I noticed a homepage link from http://www.free-casino-bonus.org/ to one of my sites. After clicking through to the site, I saw it was an exact duplicate of my site freecasinobonus.net except for 5 banners. All of the banners and links still have my code listed except for the 5 poker room banners on the left column. It looks like this is the only thing different this thief has done, putting up the 5 banners. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. What should I do?

This is the whois information I found.

That really sux, and I’m sorry that it happened to you :/

I don’t know exactly what you should do, but since I imagine that you are anxious for some sort of answer, or at least acknowledgment.. there are some little options at the bottom of the thread list, usually it will only show you the last 30 days worth of threads unless you change it.

Change that to forever, so you can see all the threads.. and then you will see lots (entirely to many) of other people that were in your shoes, and some great advice that was given to them, how to report to hosts, domain registrars, google .. etc ..

    Good Luck

I caught a git from Greece who published my entire site in her RSS feed (other industry though).

This privatedns.com host will be difficult to deal with judging by the site.

I had the same problem so all you can do is report it to google and other search engines to take them out of their index.

In the short term I would contact the programs you have a close relationship with and have the other bloke cut off at the wallet!

The center banner at the bottom of both sites is even a broken image – a small proof of scraping if nothing else!

I thought I would provide an update.

I would like to give a special thanks to Peter (Greek39) for all of his help in this situation. He found out where the site was being hosted and even took it upon himself to contact them and have a lengthy discussion regarding the theft. I hope that the host will remove the sites soon. I appreciate him taking the time and making an effort to help me when he didn’t have to.

On 8/29, I sent an email to the affiliate managers of Full Tilt, 888 Casino, Mansion Casino, Pacific Poker, Poker Stars, and Party Poker detailing the situation because these were the programs that he added to the left side of the sites. I haven’t received but one reply from any of the programs thus far, which is a bit of a disappointment. I would think that this would be something that they would get on immediately. I also filed a spam report with Google. I also sent an email to Iweb describing the situation. I also sent an email to the address listed on the whois records, but I doubt that will do any good.

The sites are still up at this point, but I’m hoping that will change soon.

I did receive an email from Poker Stars stating that they would take action on the affiliate. It’s nice to get a reply from a program to say that they at least care and don’t want to be promoted in such a way.

I also received a reply from Iweb stating that they have started an investigation into the issue. They say “The first steps of our actions involve contacting the web sites owner, verify if they are aware of the situation and seek their collaboration in resolving the issue.” I understand this is the way they do things, but it’s pretty cut and dry that these sites are direct copies of my site. Plus, he is still using my links for all of the casinos minus the few on the left side. Anyway, I hope to see them removed this week.

The best way and the fastest way to remove your content is contacting the website owner and asking him/her to remove copied pages. I have managed to delete a couple of duplicates this way. Novertheless, you should also contact aff. programs and google as well. The cashes of your pages will be in google’s index for several months…

I did contact the owner of both sites and never received a reply and he never took action. If someone is going to copy your entire site and post it on 2 domains they probably don’t care if you contact them.

It ended up that the host Iweb removed the content from both domains.

Also out of the 6 programs I contacted about this, Poker Stars were the only one that responded and said they planned on taking action against this affiliate.

Yeah, that is the same guy. The sites he copied from me were hosted at Iweb, so it may be worth contacting them to see if these sites are hosted with them as well. It appears that this person could care less about creating their own site and only wants to steal other peoples content. I know it’s very frustrating finding that someone will just steal what you have created and not think twice about it. Good luck on getting it took down and keep us updated.
