    Hello SEO’ers

I am looking to launch some new sites soon and would like to use a method of using the authority of old sites to pass onto these new domains. I have heard several top SEO guys speak about zone files and how certain country tlds have non-public zone files. This could be useful for buying up expired domains, without letting the search engines know that details have changed.

Has anyone got any experience on this one?

if you could provide some additional information on what you are referring to, I may be able to answer some of you questions.

    Just to chime in.

So the zone file is the file that the search engines use to start every crawl, and yes this works.

There are some well guarded ccTLD public zone files available, that I won’t discuss, nor will I spell out how it can help, because, like some tricks, once it’s out it won’t work. If I posted it here, I would really upset some good friends.

Additionally, it’s a pretty advanced tactic, so not for the faint of heart.

Good luck, keep looking, asking around, you’ll get the answer, but I don’t think you will find it in a public forum.

This is the kind of thing you can only really find out about here http://seoblackhat.com/2009/03/05/2009-seoktoberfest/

I’m speaking again this year, it’s worth the cost, not sure if we are sold out this year yet, but you should look into it.

I think Bob knows exactly what I am on about as this has come up at SEO conferences that he has chaired. Thanks for the tip Bob, at least I know now that this is worth pursuing.
