Ok, so as a small affiliate I have sent a few whales in my time that have done well to keep the bills paid. I get an email saying that “accounts are concerned that I am making money and not sending signups every day” – paraphrasing there.

So, a few days after that I lose a whale that I’ve had since April 2015 who was consistently turning over large amounts. It’s now been almost a month since the affiliate manager emailed me, and since the affiliate manager emailed me, the whale has all of a sudden stopped betting. I believe that I am being robbed, who would I turn to, in Australia, to audit this kind of thing? I believe I have been a victim of this before but this is one of the most obvious cases of what I believe to be outright thievery and I am sick of affiliate programs/large companies getting away with it. To whom could I refer this to?

Unfortunately most casino operators usually have multiple brands and use a technique affectionately called “Cross-Sell”, which means they will sent all players promotions and offers encouraging them to sign up to an alternative brand within the operators portfolio.

I experienced the same issue with my poker database which was over 30K in size with at least 1000 active every month, when the operation had to increase the size of the account number, all of my players disappeared from the back office.

I shared the story a few weeks ago as this same operator wants to work with us on our new casino site. The stats where updated we have $4K of revenue owned but only from 6 players.

So unless you have the players email and ask him to play on the original site again or confirm he is still playing there you are a little stuck.

Not what you want to hear but it is a very common practice. Try to capture your players details as part of a registration so at least you can “Cross sell” them yourself too.

LivetheDreamAndy, thanks for the reply – I hadn’t thought of that, it could be exactly what’s happened. Thanks for the tip, that’s really great advice.
