The lawyer Peter Wilson who is speaking at CAP Euro just called me and said he wants to keep his talk as relevent and as current as possible and asked me what you guys would like him to talk about…So rack your brain and let me know ASAP so he can prepare it for you – Remember this is advice you would normally pay a lot of money for!
His inital ideas were:
1. An update on the advertising laws in the UK following a number of rulings by the advertising standards authority
or
2. As affiliates are often small companies he could look at director responsibilities in companies and how this sits in the ecommerce world so more business focused than gambling
If either of these sound good or you have other suggestions please let me know today so it can be considered

September 17, 2008 at 1:04 pm #778979AnonymousInactiveOr – how about what type of legal steps one can take against programs that screw you.
In the “real world” you would not get away with the stuff some programs pull. Contracts seem meaningless online.
September 17, 2008 at 3:10 pm #778988AnonymousInactiveFrance, Germany and the Netherlands?
Or the relation of the European Court of Justice and its member states concerning the gambling laws?
(there are quite a few dutch affiliates, but not enough i think to let him discuss or give
his view on http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/igaming-tax-bill-clears-dutch-senate.29643.html? and the consequences for affiliates)September 17, 2008 at 3:31 pm #778990AnonymousInactiveOr the relation of the European Court of Justice and its member states concerning the gambling laws?
I think it would be interesting to hear views on this. When talking about the EU court of justice you automaticly talk about different juriscicions in the eu.
September 18, 2008 at 1:54 am #779043YoungT.jrMemberI will make my vote for:
Quote:2. As affiliates are often small companies he could look at director responsibilities in companies and how this sits in the ecommerce world so more business focused than gamblingAlso, a look into the opportunities in offshore LLC’s added to this.
September 19, 2008 at 9:09 am #779178AnonymousInactiveIn case you were interested his response following Grahams response at PAP and yours was
“The gist seems to be that a talk about the current situation across Europe regarding the promotion of online gambling and its relationship to developments in EU law would be welcomed. I think I will do a sort of European tour looking at the developments.”
Remember he will be around for both days so grab him after his talk and get some free advice if you can – There isn’t many times when you can get a lawyer to talk free of charge!!
