    Hi everyone,
Well, I already posted this same post in the Newbie section of the forum, but that was before I saw I could post it here! My site is http://www.reviews4casinos.com. If you could take a look and give me some tips, that would be wonderful! This is a wonderful site and resource. Thanks everyone,
    Heather :)

    Am no expert.

The logo is all text but in a gif. Myself, I would consider just writing the text in a H tag. Why not?

Would choose different text for the content heading from “HOME” to something more relevant to the content.

Would also change all internal links to the homepage to point to the actual site url http://www.reviews4casinos.com/ rather than http://www.reviews4casinos.com/index.html

Apart from that I can read and understand the site without being affected by banner blindness, which means it is ok by me.

    Be well..

Thanks for the tips. I appreciate the time you took to look. Now, I am a complete newbie at this, so please excuse my ignorance. What is the advantage to changing all my internal links to the homepage to point to the actual site url http://www.reviews4casinos.com/ rather than http://www.reviews4casinos.com/index.html? I’m sure there’s a good reason, I just don’t know what it is. Thanks,
    Heather

Lots of advantages. A key one is if you every do switch to index.php or some other file type, all your links to index.html will become completely useless and you’ll have to start from scratch. If you just link to the root url you can switch file types without switching linking in any way.

Besides that you risk search engines viewing these / and index.html as different pages.

There is no reason to link to index.html, so why do it?

I believe the above to be correct.

I figure you mean http://www.url.com is preferable to http://www.url.com/ ?

I recall reading is advisable to put the / for some reason? It is a vague memory or just the confusion of the inept.

How far off the mark am I please?

Putting the “/” is a good idea.
