Partnership with Slovenian IT company extended
From today’s CAP Newswire:October 14, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — A partnership between the U.K.’s Inspired Gaming and Slovenian-Irish IT group Hermes Softlab has resulted in the launch of a new addition to the Inspired open server-based gaming platform Virtual Sports Book.
The new product was developed by Hermes and is designed as a multiplayer, multi-event, and multi-sport engine with central management and event scheduling functionality.
“VSB is a key part of our future,” said Matt Ingram, software development director of Inspired.
“We were pleased to see how effectively Hermes could integrate into our Open SBGTM platform and deliver a stunning product.”
Hermes Softlab recently grew its staff in Dublin from 40 to 60 and has been successful in the Irish IT market on the back of key business wins with O2, Vodafone, and BT.
The firm specializes in IT “nearshoring”, which means locating outsourcing facilities closer to client firms, and the company has been targeting the Irish telecoms, financial services, and public sector IT markets.
The company has also established a critical niche in the growing Internet gaming sector. The head of Hermes Softlab in Dublin Kevin Maher told Silicon Republic.com last year that the company was working with U.S. online poker firm Tiltware which was relocating to Dublin with the creation of 200 jobs, and with Inspired Gaming in building a fast-growing games and Wi-Fi network in Europe.
Hermes arrived on the Dublin scene almost seven years ago to target not only the local market for outsourced IT services but also the U.K. and U.S. markets. “These markets would account for about 20 percent of the group’s worldwide business and this is growing,” Maher revealed.
