    Mario please see:

    http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,1891913,00.html

    In the article it states:

    Quote:
Another online gambling company, Leisure and Gaming, said it would also stop taking bets from US customers and would focus solely on its existing UK and Italian businesses.

It said it was considering whether to suspend, close or sell its US operations and said it had received a number of takeover approaches for its US-facing businesses.

Is this official? Is VIP Profits no longer accepting US Players once the law is signed or goes into effect? Or is this already being enacted by Leisure and Gaming as a pre-emptive measure today?

    Hi Professor,

I just posted about this in our own forums as the news came in as a surprise, but NO this is not official.

VIP Profits merchants are still taking bets and the coming days will determine what will really happen.

The intention is to secure the US facing businesses and possibly do that outside Leisure And Gaming.

It is business as usual for our merchants!

I will keep you updated as events progress…
Thank you for bringing it up!

yeah, I can’t fathom Alistair dumping VIP – that’s his baby. my GUESS is those brands and operations will be taken back to private ownership – through a buyout or sale to previous owners.

    I hope so.

    Hey CodeName!

This is indeed close to what is most likely to happen.

Events are moving extremely fast and again, the most important thing here is to secure the US faced businesses and yes, this is most likely to happen through going private again.
Here is the latest news on that:
    http://today.reuters.com/news/articleinvesting.aspx?view=CN&storyID=2006-10-11T111419Z_01_L11751225_RTRIDST_0_LEISURE-LEISURE-GAMING-UPDATE-1.XML&rpc=66&type=qcna

For affiliates, not much will change.
All will continue to get credit for players they send and the activity of those on their current list.
