InactiveHi Everyone,
If you aren’t already using our redirect links only, please login to Brightshare and pick up our redirect links and banner codes and replace all of your direct links to our casinos.
Please do not try edit the banner codes else they won’t work – please use them as is. You can add a campaign ID after your affiliate tag, but that’s it.
We will take care of the rest.
If you have any questions please post them here.
Many thanks, and see some of you real soon!
Cheers, Lloyd

Inactivecasinotime — check out this thread:

InactiveNot sure what the seizure of domains has to do with this. I think Lloyd is making the point that he wants the “ref” part and the “clickscounter” part of the link to stay intact? Is that so?
Sometimes I took them apart but as I have mentioned previously I do not understand why this should impede click tracking. The only thing that should be affected should be impressions tracking.

InactiveHe mentioned the Kentucky story in the thread title.
If you use the redirect links, then your links should still work if Brightshare has to set up new casino domains, if Kentucky gets control of the current domains.

InactiveI guess he refers to the usage of redirection links such as:
http://www.brightshare.com/clickscounter.php?compaign=xxx&groupid=0&bTag=xxxxxxxxx_aff_&affid=xxxxxxxxxand not using links directly pointing to the casino’s name like http://www.allslots.com/blablabalbala.
(Maybe they used links like this in the past, I don’t know I always used the links that redirects through brightshare.)So I guess Brightshare can do this way the necessary redirecting in the background – even if the casino will be down because of the domain seizure, they can redirect you to another temporary domain and nothing will be lost…)

InactiveDo you believe every program that has casinos on that list is going to institute this method?? I can’t believe the amount of work this is going to create for us.

If the affiliate program doesn’t handle linking through their own domain it might be a problem, yes
But I think most of them use their own domain when you set up links with them, because that way traffic tracking is easier for them.
The one I just checked is World Bingo affiliate properties (usa bingo, desperate housewives bingo, etc) and they use worldbingoaffiliates.com as an affiliate link, and then they redirect to the given property, so if the bingo domains will be down, they can redirect our traffic to other temporary domains till everything is settled.Don’t know about those other links though…

InactiveIf you use the text links we provide:
http://www.brightshare.com/clickscounter.php?compaign=93&groupid=0&bTag=astt_107&affid=554
And the banner links we provide:

Then, if needed, we can redirect your players to a different domain.
You can add a campaign id after the banner tag like this:
astt_107_campid1
But please don’t make any other changes to the codes, else they won’t track.
Also, when you use our redirects we can count and show your impressions (on banners) and clicks in your reports.
That make more sense?

It is nice to see somebody thinking and planning for worst case scenerioSeptember 23, 2008 at 6:58 pm #779593Anonymous
InactiveThanks casinobonusguy. I heard the Fortune guys are planning as well. After an emergency meeting, a bit of research and old “better safe than sorry” from a very trusted affiliate – we decide it best to move now and give everyone time to make the updates. The lucky part is that our system is built to handle this situation. It’s just a pain for those affiliates who use direct links to now go and update.
Hopefully nothing will really happen – so the worst case for us will be updated links.
Thanks again! Any other questions please post them here.
