Against my better judgement, I put a Vegas Affiliate casino back up on the site. And more stupidly, bought outside advertising for them as well.
45 clicks.
0 downloads.
This despite the fact that I downloaded from my own link more than 36 hours ago… and gave them their usual 24 hours to update… nothing. So naturally I pulled them back down again because I am highly suspicious – the numbers are better than most of my other casinos.
Did anyone test them lately? If so, what were your results?
August 17, 2004 at 7:25 pm #653534AnonymousGuestWe did a simple test about 3 weeks ago – a $100.00 deposit and didn’t have any problems. The stats were accurate, and recorded almost immediately.
But one player does not a scientific experiment make!
My stats with them are rather disappointing. 5 new players and less than $100.00 commission.
Hits: 167
Downloads: 37
Real Players: 5
Commission: $85.00Although the stats look normal, the strange thing about is I am having more hits on the casinos that I am not featuring (and are barely on the site at all) than on Cinema Casino, which is featured……..very interesting……
August 17, 2004 at 7:34 pm #653535AnonymousInactiveUmm… I think you just made the same mistake I used to make all the time…
Vegas Partner = Cinema Casino et al.
Vegas Affiliates = Colosseum Casino et al.I was talking about Vegas Affiliates… though to be honest I’m still a bit leery of the Vegas Partner stats…
August 17, 2004 at 7:35 pm #653536vladcizsolMemberI do ok with them. The only gripe I have with them is they are late payers.
August 17, 2004 at 7:47 pm #653537AnonymousInactiveYeah – extremely late… LOL…
I’d like to think that I could do ok with them too. But if my downloads and/or registrations are not tracking correctly, just how many players could you be missing?
That should be the cause for concern

August 17, 2004 at 11:43 pm #653544AnonymousGuestHi Spear,
I recently sent a letter to VA, here’s their reply and part of what I’d written them. it explains itself.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your email.
Please accept my apologies for the delay answering your previous email,
as I have been extremely busy lately.I am currently in talks with our casino partners in order to assess the relevancy of a new system we want to put in place at Vegas Affiliates.
Since the way we operate might change, I think that agreeing on terms of partnership as of now would not be sensible, as some of our
terms and conditions might be modified in the near future. What I think would be right is for you to contact me again in the next few weeks,
as I dont have yet the full picture of how things will look like once changes have been implemented.Let me know what you think.
Best regards,Pierrick Lévêque

Subject: needing an affiliate managerHi,
I am affiliate “bb1webs”
I’m writing today because I’m going to be giving your casinos a try on a limited basis. I’d like to begin a relationship with an affiliate manager. If your casinos produce, I’ll do my best to make us numbers like the three examples below, all from this previous month. I can show you more stats, though the next ones will not be quite as impressive. These are the kind of numbers that I have come to expect from my traffic, and will need likewise from your program a very good bottom line in order to justify keeping your links up.
I’m saying all this to you now in the most sincere hopes that we can enjoy a long and profitable partnership. That if you’ve any tracking issues, or whatever, that is going to make our debut together anything but a very pleasant and profitable experience, then please address those issues so that our partnership will have every possible chance of being as successful as these two programs
XXXXXXXXXXXX
I want for us to have no illusions about each other, and wish for you to know that I don’t say any of this accusingly, nor do I say it because I have any foundation for believing that your program is guilty of anything. Quite the opposite. If I didn’t think your program was honest i’d not be here in the first place.
Personally, I like to know where I stand with someone, and I respect straight-forward talk so that there is no mistakes made in understanding each other. so here goes:
If you’ve any thought of shaving or cutting players out of my account I think you should know that I have an excellent relationship with some players, and they do keep me informed every now and then of where they’ve been playing, and how much was spent.
I will be your program’s best friend and better advertisement than money can buy at any price if you treat me fairly. But if I catch your program cheating me, I’ll make it a point to
well, you know the rest.
anyway, I took from his reply that he was unsure of the tracking but would welcome my scrupulous attention after they put in the new system and had time to work out the kinks.
*Most of them just tell me to go away
jus’ kiddin’.
August 18, 2004 at 12:24 am #653547AnonymousInactiveThey are using income access software to track and they are very unhappy about it. They were unhappy back when Stefano was still at the helm.
I am glad to see they will make a change.
August 18, 2004 at 5:35 am #653559AnonymousInactiveNice one, Steve.
I knew about the aff program before they started it. Well in advance, for that matter – when I heard they were going Income Access I winced.
I actually know the people at Income Access and they are very good people, don’t get me wrong. But their tracking simply sucks.
Anyhow, ever since then there has been absolutely no point in promoting Vegas Affiliates. Stefano knew it and never pushed me. Pierrick probably heard about it and also doesn’t bother me.
The problem is, they claim to have been looking for a new provider for almost a year now – so I wouldn’t count any chickens just now.
Nevertheless – this ought to serve as a strong warning to anyone promoting Vegas Affiliates that they are not getting full credit for their efforts.
August 19, 2004 at 2:32 pm #653610AnonymousInactiveI will be your program’s best friend and better advertisement than money can buy at any price if you treat me fairly. But if I catch your program cheating me, I’ll make it a point to

If I had an aff program, and you wrote this to me, and you were anything short of tripling my volume, I would tell you where you could go, and if you were in the same country as me I would go to the cops and report a threat.
I think this is rude and crude and smacks of extortion.
August 19, 2004 at 3:39 pm #653616AnonymousGuestDom you don’t even know what the rest of the letter said, so don’t go jumping to conclusions.
And I meant it to be rude and crude. I wanted to make sure there were no misunderstandings and I think I accoplished that.
and I’d have no problem going right around any program that didn’t want to deal with me.
I just need to know where I stand.
August 19, 2004 at 3:41 pm #653617AnonymousGuestand PS,
it may not tickle your fancy, but it saved me from wasting valuable time putting up links to someplace that when pressured, even admitted it was better to wait.
Do you think I’d have gotten the same honest reply if I’d said, “I wanna promote your product, where do I sign up? oh, and you’re not going to cheat me are you?”
August 19, 2004 at 3:46 pm #653618AnonymousGuestto clear up:
the part where it says, “you know the rest” was not in the letter to the program, but was rather meant for people here.
here’s the rest of the letter: I just didn’t post because I figured it was a no-brainer
here is the rest of the letter picked up from about where I left off above.
But if I catch your program cheating me, I’ll make it a point to start a new thread at CAP on the first of every month, warning people about VA..
So please consider what I’ve said and if you don’t want me for an affiliate, I can respect that too. Say go away, and I will. But if you let me continue as an affiliate then be certain you have made up your mind to treat me honestly in every aspect possible.
You can see from the above stats that I don’t get a lot of traffic but what is coming in is indisputably very good traffic.
I doubt there’s another webmaster around that has over 50 signed players at any given program, and can say that the current active players are worth an average of over $4k.(referback stats).
All I want is to be treated fairly, and in return I will do my best to make your casinos the kind of numbers seen above.
I thank you for your understanding and patience in having read this letter. I look forward to a prompt reply because I’m starting a big campaign in less than a week (or so I’ve been told: an will have 2 of your sites listed right out in front where they will get maximum exposure.
now the only thing missing from the letter are the cut and paste of stats I send to prove that I am not talking BS to the programs.
btw, Brent got that from me. If I hadn’t done it to him (with my stats of course) a dozen times in the last 3 years, it probably would never have occurred to him to even go that route.
August 19, 2004 at 4:30 pm #653621AnonymousInactiveWell, everyone is different I suppose.
If I was a decent program, I would be highly insulted and wish you would go back to whence you came.
The letter is full of threats and insults – from my point of view. It comes from someone with a huge chip on their shoulder – and usually it’s best to avoid such people.
These are just my sentiments.
If I was a crooked program however, I might consider it a challenge – especially if your stats look nice.

I have no idea what you mean here.
August 19, 2004 at 5:05 pm #653625AnonymousGuestI have no idea what you mean here.
I was referring to the showing of stats as proof of what you’re trying to get across
