Late last night I had to edit one of my main includes to hide your ads.
Display of my site showed broken images where your ads would normally be. Somehow this warped the display of the entire right column of the site.
I then tried to log in to figure out why ads weren’t showing, and found that you were down for maintenance.
Why does every piece of your system go down at the same time, and why did I miss the notice that any ads I pointed your way would be wasted from whenever you started this until whenever it was finished? Was there a notice sent?
Turning ads off is easy. Turning them back on isn’t always so quick.

Yes, very sorry about that.
It seems our database server downtime was due to an accident on the part of an employee at the company that hosts our servers. This prevented the database from fetching the proper path for the banners. Our servers are hosted with a major provider who serves many of the biggest organizations in the industry, but these things happen. It took a little while to track down the problem because it was such a freak occurrence.
The good news is that to ensure that banners are still served during unexpected database server downtime, we have put a redundant system in place that will allow the webserver to serve the proper banners independent of the database. All clicks and impressions were recorded during this time and were imported once the database server was restored.
Everything should be running smooth as usual now.
Thanks.
Daniel
