so do us U.S. affiliates need to worry about this UIGEA crap ? The law or whatever is suppose to be put into effect on June 1.
Somebody on another forum said there’s a tiny little clause in there in which they could come after us. But it seemed very remote & vague.
All we’ve got is a top 10 casino guide.. I don’t advertise it, I don’t have sports betting sites or anything. Just outbound casino affiliate links.

The thing is it costs a lot to process this and its usually a political or money motivated move so the target has to be a name or brand that will hit headlines….IF they were to go after affiliates I suspect they will start at the top and hit the big guns but I still think this is unlikely…
I would also add something like this at the bottom of your site or on the about us bit if you haven’t already. Don’t know if it will actually do anything but it seems most of the big affiliates have these kind of words on their site
Online gambling may not be legal in the country that you live in. It is the sole responsibility of the visitor to understand that laws in their country of residence still apply. The DOJ has been focusing on the money trail, trying to nip things at a higher level. I think after the mid-term elections, things will change. Many states in the U.S. are in the toilet financially, and the thought of garnering some online gambling tax revenue, is very appealing to most. The UIGEA was passed by a different regime, in a different time. Look for it to wither away and die over time.
