Lately there has been a great number of traffic merchants offering “100,000 hits for $129, 50,000 Gambling hits for $149”.
The prices and packages vary. The results dont.I believe this so called “traffic” is generated by one source and marketed by affiliates through a number of individually skinned sites.
It’s all basically the same crap. CGI generated clicks and small hidden pop ups on adult sites and embedded within Spam emails.
I ordered two of three of these packages from different affiliates to evauluate the programs. All produced the same results, no real player sign ups. The traffic was sent directly to casinos in two cases so you would expect at least a few players, but no, Nada, Zilch, Bupkis ….
You will recognize the scam when they offer 100,000 + visitors and then under T&C say your sites cannot have sound or pop ups (This is because they wants THEIR pop ups to remain hidden and silent)
Don’t get taken by these scams. Real Traffic Costs Real Money. Ask yourself this. “If you found a source of targeted gambling traffic for less then a penny a click would you sell it? Would you even tell anyone about it?” The answer is “Hell No!” You would send that traffic to the casinos yourself and get wildly rich. The LAST thing you would is sell it for so little!
You’ve been warned, don’t waste your money on this garbage.

Are there any traffic programs that you can recommend ?May 22, 2003 at 6:52 pm #639081vladcizsolMemberHi Top
Well unfortunately there really are no magic bullets. Believe me I think I have tried most of what’s out there and the ONLY thing that produces REAL results is Real work and Real advertising.1. The first step is to build quality websites. Include as much content and pages that would appeal to visitors as possible.
2. Exchange links with other quality gambling oriented websites.
3. Learn as much as you can about search engine optimization then integrate these techniques into your site(s). The more you learn the more you earn is a good rule of thumb here.
4. Do not do ANYTHING that will get you banned from the major search engines. This includes Keyword stuffing. Blatant Doorway pages. Hidden Text or CSS layers. Cloaking. Duplicate pages. Zeus or Links 2 U type link farms etc… Once you get banned its very difficult to get back in.
5. Supplement your search engine traffic with QUALITY paid campaigns. These are NOT cheap. Use PPC engines that have stringent fraud control like Overture. Yes, the click costs are high but the traffic is REAL. Use banner campaigns where you see your banners displayed and can verify placement and activity.
6. Set up a quality email newsletter and do whatever you can to get visitors to subscribe. DO NOT SPAM THEM DAILY. Send a weekly or bi weekly Newsletter that has real content. This repeat exposure to visitors who trust you is critical and one of the most overlooked aspects of marketing.
7. If you must do email marketing to people who have not specifically subscribed to your newsletter be sure to use a reputable mailing company or list broker. DO NOT BUY 15,000,000 names for $29.95 and SPAM them or you will get shut down immediately, plus will likely lose any commissions that you might have received.
I could go on, but if you follow these seven suggestions you can be very successul in this business.
May 23, 2003 at 11:52 am #639087AnonymousInactiveThanks for this very informative advice . It is really appreciated . I am glad to say that I must be on the right track , as I am currently doing most of what you have suggested.
Just a dumb question though – you mention CSS – I work on frontpage which incorporates CSS ( this is a sort of default with frontpage – couldn’t even tell you exactly what it does though!) but I’m not sure exactly what you mean when you refer to CSS layers. Would this be the same thing?
I’m a bit worried in case I am unknowingly doing some sort of spamming!!May 23, 2003 at 12:20 pm #639088vladcizsolMemberI dont believe this will be an issue for you then. Unless you are consciously attempting to hide keywords and text in layers you shouldnt have any problems.
There were some discussions of this at SEO chat by people who were suddenly banned by Google this month. There is quite a bit of good info here for people who wish to sharpen their Search Engine Skills
