Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to post a reminder about the importance of keeping your affiliate tracking code in tact to ensure that player referrals are tagged to your affiliate account.
We just had a couple of cases that came up in recent weeks where the tracking code was modified and as a consequence the referrals didn’t come through tagged to an affiliate. It’s really a shame as it’s such as simple thing that could be avoided.
We’ve made it our mission to try to “track” down any of you who may be using incorrect code and get in touch with any of you that might have modified the code in a way that would prevent proper tracking.
So… please help us with this mission. Check your code today … please… pretty please.
Here’s a quick overview ……..
Income Access tracking code should be copied and placed on your site without any modifications. If you modify the code, the link may still work but it might not be properly tracked and reported by the Income Access System. Sometimes, it may even appear that the tracking code is working properly when in fact the small modification has made the tracking code not work. For example:
To link to Absolute Poker your link should look like
http://www.incomeaccess.com/processing/clickthrgh.asp?btag=a_4173b_963And NOT like
http://www.absolutepoker.com/main.asp?btag=a_77a_4173b_963If you use the second example there is no guarantee that your referrals with be tracked to your affiliate account.
It would be wonderful if you could check your links to ensure that they are set up properly. If you are in doubt please let me know and one of us will visit your site and verify that it is set up properly.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Have a great weekend!
Jennifer

October 25, 2004 at 3:59 pm #656639AnonymousInactiveHi,
The tracking code hasn’t changed at all since Absolute Poker came into the Income Access affiliate program.
Basically…. this is what happens
he link looks something like this pre click
http://www.incomeaccess.com/processing/clickthrgh.asp?btag=a_4969b_963
the link looks something like this post click
http://www.absolutepoker.com/main.asp?btag=a_77a_4969b_963
It seems that some of your have taken the post click link and are using this as your tracking code thinking that this will track all referred players. However, in certain instances this won’t be the case as it has bypassed a step in the tracking process.
If you have any other questions just let me know
Thanks,

Thanks
