    Hi

I have a slots forum, however how do I get more people to sign up and join and more importantly post!!!!

Anyone have tips on building a forum community and getting people to post?

If you have a forum yourself does it attract slots related posts?

Should I be promoting my forum specifically in any way?

Any tips please and if you get the urge to post yourself please do

Perhaps you could start a contest in the forum and award the winner with $500 or something. The requirements could be that they need at least 50 posts or something within 2 months. Or have a contest for the best slots game name that hasn’t been created yet and award the winner a certain dollar amount.

That might be good, but you need to remember to market your contest… if your forum gets 2 new members on this contest its not much worth for $500 right?

One tip would be to start lots of threads. Many people are lurkers and many others are responders. The lurkers post when something sparks their interest and the responders post when a thread is already in play.

Try to post at least a few times per day and make them good posts, not filler crap.

I have a pretty broad POV here, as I own a few forums and manage or work for a few others. IMO slots seem to be the slowest to get going.

In my own exp. I’m a lurker, I don’t even generally register unless I’m asked to, or I MUST reply to something. In that respect, controversy brings posts.

Aside from that there are a few ways to get forums going, there are programs like http://www.postonmyforum.com (the site has been sold, so I’m not endorsing, just mentioning, haven’t worked with them sense the sale) where you can pay for posts, or there are post trade programs where webmasters take turns posting on each others forums, because face it, noones going to join if there’s nothing to talk about.

You can also join under a few usernames and talk to yourself, as long as you do it right and it doesn’t look fake, no one joins a forum to talk to themselves, so you’ve got to build a starting point :)

The best forums have alot of contests . I alway do the contests that requires a new sign up and a deposit for bigger money Prizes but also have something for everyone to take part in .You may give out 100.00 in prize money but it keeps them around and when you ad more programs it converts to alot of new signups .I have some bingo forums and I pay a few people who play bingo with me to post in my forums. It works better when people have a genuine interest in what you are promoting.

Many forum owners also allow you to post your contests on their boards,Just try to have different casinos than the forums you are posting to.
