I sure you all would agree with me that the US Government has a shitload of more problems right now than to persecute every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the internet gaming industry.
I mean in all reality we are experiencing record high gas prices, a war on terrorism on two fronts (Iraq and Afghanistan) that are going mediocre at best, a looming Middle Eastern Crisis that could lead to World War III, and massive budget deficits here at home for the last 5 years.
Now is it just me or does our Government have a lot more important things to do than send me to jail for betting on the Packers.
Sorry for my rants but I am just at my wits end with all this.

July 20, 2006 at 9:51 am #699356AnonymousInactiveI agree with you sac.. it’s annoying..
I cannot understand the logic behind it though.. wouldn’t it be easier to regulate it in the USA? I mean instead of all the billions of dollars from the online gambling going offshore? and what is the reason behind them changing the law recently anyway? and having all these federals on the board catching people like they did with David Carruthers… what’s next??:Ohno:
MissMJuly 20, 2006 at 5:55 pm #699397AnonymousInactiveThis doesn’t surprise me at all. We’re talking about a government that likes to spend over 50% of its budget on the military. This is not counting the amount that is spent on ‘homeland security’
They cant afford to provide proper healthcare, but they can afford to have researchers modifying and creating new strains of small pox.
They cant afford providing shelter to the homeless but they can afford sticking billionaires in jail at 100k a year a pop.
This is not a shock. This is the US government, it’s simply become too large and too powerful for its own good and the good of the world.
This gambling thing does suck. But let’s not forget we are talking about a country here that refuses to sign a landmine treaty, even when landmines kill thousands of innocents a year. A nation that refuses to ban the testing of nuclear weapons within its own borders.

Dear Partner,
Due to the uncertain legal environment in the United States, we have decided to discontinue accepting U.S. players for all properties on the Grand Virtual platform. As you know, the strength of the Grand Virtual properties has always been pioneering new language versions and focusing on excellent service for our European, Asian and Latin American players. We believe this step will enable both of us to concentrate even more on these important customers.
As of July 24, we will no longer accept new U.S. players. They will neither be able to deposit nor play for real money. Any existing players you have recruited from the U.S. will be allowed to continue playing on their account for as long as they wish, and you will earn your commissions on their revenue for their lifetime with us.
At this time, we suggest you cease any U.S.-targeted marketing and refocus your efforts on other markets. If you need assistance in identifying potential markets, please contact me and I will be happy to provide you with feedback.
If you have any questions about this change, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] .
Best Regards,
Damian
