I have tried for a month to straighten this out. We’ve been affiliates of thepokerclub.com since the day they opened, always getting a dozen signups a month, some reals, making $100 or $200 a month. They didn’t convert well but it was a constant little check so we kept with them.
Got an email from a guy Bryan Thrower asking if we would promote World Poker Party, they just merged with thePokerClub…well on our poker forum we have a forum for The Power Network since we had so many players there to begin with, even though we didn’t have a rep posting there. We pushed them to death, stuck them on the forum (with over 4100 members) and on all our poker sites (this same exposure would of gotten 100s of players, at least 10 reals in just about any other room) and after a month, not ONE SIGNUP!
I emailed this guy Bryan, he never replied, he had posted on our forum a few times then disappeared. I had one of my mods signup using my link at WPP, and lo and behold he didn’t show. They told me he showed up under someone else…..after a dozen emails back and forth with this network, and they didn’t resolve it, they still say the link works fine but we have no signups, IMPOSSIBLE…..so we’re going to pull them down completely. I have them everywhere will take some time.
But since this merge, thepokerclub.com’s stats went off too, now we’re making $10 a month (after 2-3 years of doing $100-$200 a month) and showing no new signups for the last few months, which we ALWAYS get new fun players there like crazy.
Also we had an affiliate account with UPlayPoker another room to their network, we had a few players there, not much, but now they’re saying we don’t have an account there.
So a warning to anyone promoting them…….BEWARE

March 19, 2005 at 3:00 am #663094AnonymousInactiveIt looks to me like poker programs need to be watched very carefully.
Some have terrible t&cs, some pull weird tricks like this one and true poker.
I suppose the industry is young and growing at an incredible rate and we really have to be careful.
Thank you for the heads up, Ellen!
Ps. Posting at the same time again – lol Professor. Definitely, and True Poker too!

March 22, 2005 at 10:14 pm #663268AnonymousGuestI agree, they are bad news.
I don’t know how many times I have had to change their damn links due to a new merger, etc.
which may be the reason you’re not seeing new signups, they changed the link codes.
I wrote them back this last time and said scew it! If I have to chase down your links again to change them , instead I’m taking them down.
thepokerclub sucks!
March 22, 2005 at 11:52 pm #663279AnonymousInactiveYep, I changed all their links with the merge and even emailed them and asked them if the new ones were correct with the url, and was told yes.
This World Poker Party brought on tons of new players with the merge and the games were going strong so I thought it would pick up nicely, I’ve stuck with them for so long, but NOOOOOOO we want from some signups to none. And I’ve yet to put a link up on our poker forum without getting 10 signups in the first day (mostly fun but signups nonetheless) until these guys :eh:
