Just wanted to share some Online Gaming Regulation News for all affiliates generating traffic for the Netherlands.
As most of the industry knows, earlier this year the framework for regulation of online gambling in the Netherlands started. All hard work has not been done in vain… As for some exiting news, a Gaming Authority should start-up in operation in January 2012, and it’s forecasted that licenses for online gambling should be issued from there.

For those in the community that are active with Dutch traffic- any insights as to what you’re expecting with regulation?

My business partner on many sites we have in our network is from the Netherlands and we have been focused on the Dutch market for some time now. I have to agree Poker is much more important to them and I can say building a player base from players in that geographic area to be a wise move. Casino wise they are a bit more slow to catch on mainly due to competition – but I feel if this legalization comes about were going to see a huge growth in that market.
Were lucky since all our content can be done by my partner! Since he lives there we have many resources and contacts!!! SO its wonderful to hear this news

Just curious… are you seeing major growth with Netherlands traffic? Are you going to be focusing on this geo-targeted area for some time? Or are there other countries you’re diversifying into?
October 28, 2011 at 1:30 am #819220turbooddsMemberWell my business partner (who i now call my brother) he is from the Netherlands and we met a few years back as he was one of my “Poker Whales” – he was a great raker!! LOL – i often spoke to him and mande sure he was happy with his poker selections. I used to run a more community approach and talked and participated with my community.
One day he came to me and said I am almost done school for web design and programing and want to maybe work with you as partners to develop some sites. From there we opened a couple of unsuccessful sites – but continually worked hard to together day after day until things worked!
He does all our dutch side work in terms of translations and since day one or dutch traffic which was zero has now become maybe 30% of our traffic and were gaining good acquisitions from the traffic. The player value is hit and miss. Some times it can be lower value and sometimes extremely valuable (especially the casino side). The Dutch love to gamble!
We are currently now moving into other regions slowly as we translate more of our content into various other languages with special landing pages to test! I like to test things slowly.
My goal would be to have the majority of our traffic all come from high valued countries in Europe
