As promised in an earlier thread, I wanted to share my progress from the start. I am a total novice when it comes to website design, a definate disadvantage.

This week I bought 5 domains from Godaddy. I love shopping for domains, I figured all the “good” ones would be taken, that is not the case at all. There are tons of “good” casino related names available.

I have a friend who has alot of free space left on his dreamhost account, so we decided to let him host. He is also the one helping set up these sites, so that should work out well.

I have signed up for several CAP certified affiliates:

Gigaslot – The whole mobile phone casino idea seems like a good one. Registration was trouble free.

Earn Untied – These guys seem to have a good white label program, I need a custom branded casino for one of my projects. I created a template for my casino. I still will need to upload art. I got a tad confused with what to do next, but I am sure I will figure it out. Registration was simple.

Slotland – I saw them refered to favorably by several members of CAP. Their creative seems really good as well. Easy sign up.

Referspot – This was the first affiliate program I tried. Registration seemed simple but required I link back through an email….which I never received. I started to second guess if I had given them my correct email, so I emailed the contact listed in the CAP directory. A few hours later the email I sent was returned, it seems the email listed here is no longer valid. So I went back to their site and emailed the support mail listed. Within minutes I received an autoreply assuring me I would be contacted ASAP. It has now been 3 days, I have heard nothing. I am going to pass on working with Referspot for now.

I am starting to break the ‘longer than hand’ post rule, so I will update with more details on my plans, tommorow.

    Excellent start.

Don’t worry too much.. I was extremely inexperienced when I first started. Had almost zero web building experience (at least for a full-fledged site with linking and seo)… and now my sites are looking a bit more professional and created from scratch with a little hard work and occasional help.

It’s worth it and it’s fun as well. Of course it is frustrating at times as well. :)

I still suck at website design, but I’ve done well just by learning basic search engine optimization. Now I get about 700 independent visitors a month – which really helps with the signups!
