So,
the big question is:
target=”_blank”>
Yes or no to using this so the link opens up in a new window/tab?
Thanks!
:hattip:June 13, 2008 at 11:33 pm #770101AnonymousInactiveI never open links in a new window, as I find it annoying when sites do this to me so why would I want to implement that on to my users?
The only benefit I can see to use target=_blank is to keep users on your site, but if you have a good site with good content people will be coming back anyway.June 14, 2008 at 3:24 am #770107AnonymousInactivebut if you have a good site with good content people will be coming back anyway.
__________________I agree with that, I don’t find it very annoying to have a new window open at times and then there are times when I do, I guess it depends on the situation.

I can’t see any benefit at all in keeping your affiliate links opening in the same window. If they all open in the same window including your affiliate links, then players start to navigate the casino site and never find their way back to your website even if they wanted to. They are not going to remember your website most of the time and I doubt they will hit the back button 9 times to find you again, so its really a disservice to everyone keeping affiliate links opening in the same window. All it will do is cost you money and visitors if you keep all links opening in the same window, its really a poor business decision imo.
As a matter of fact I remember before I got in this affiliate business, I was an avid player and was always searching affiliate sites. I can’t tell you how many times I found great information on a particular site and became a casino player, and had certain affiliates opened that particular affiliate link in a new window, they might of got me for a double wammy conversion. Instead they sent me to the casino site in the same window, and when I got done losing my money I went and found the same information on another affiliates site and they got me for the next conversion. Really, I don’t understand why any affiliate would want to sabotage their success by keeping links in the same window. I am pretty sure most players appreciate this, I know as an old gambling surfer myself this is what I wanted.

:tongue:
All the best.

I always open affiliate links in a new window. I feel that if they don’t like the casino then at least they won’t close the window lose my site. I’ve pretty much seen the same thing on other non-gambling sites as well. -
