Hi,
Now that pop-up killers are so common place, has everyone replaced their target=_BLANK with something else or are you allowing the casinos to load over your portal page?
Thanks for input,
BernieMay 17, 2004 at 4:53 am #649322AnonymousInactiveNothing wrong with target=”_blank”
May 17, 2004 at 5:11 am #649323AnonymousInactivehmmm… I have the Enigma pop-up killer on my machine … it seems to think _BLANK is a popup.
Is this just my machine or does anyone else have popup blocker software that does this.
Thanks,
bernieMay 17, 2004 at 6:25 am #649326AnonymousInactiveThat’s the most retarded software then! I wonder if some people sit there clicking links and wondering why half of them dont work. I was under the impression most programs only prevented unwanted popups. Not popups that a person clicks on. Hopefully this is an abnormality.
May 17, 2004 at 3:06 pm #649348AnonymousInactiveI don’t recall where I read this now, but one message board had a long thread about some popup killers killing everything under the sun, including text links.
There are all kinds of them out there.
May 17, 2004 at 3:11 pm #649350AnonymousInactiveYeah, no kidding, I’m glad I am the only one reporting it. It seems to work most of the time… there are a few places it screws up like that.
For instance on the new Casino Blasters stats (ugh!) … you login and it gives you two big buttons to chose poker stats or casinos stats.
I have to turn the software off to load the stats… it might be because it’s an image instead of text?
anyway I’m uninstalling it now …
word to the unwise

May 24, 2004 at 9:32 pm #649665AnonymousGuestDean, can you explain what that is in enough detail even I would understand it.
call it, Clayton’s pop-ups for dummies.
is this a method that can be triggered automatically or do they have to click on the link?
*needless to say, a popup that can get around the popup killers is desireable in some instances.
thanks in advance for your reply
May 25, 2004 at 6:15 am #649678AnonymousInactiveThey are called layer ads, slide in ads, I just call them gorgeous.
What happens is a dynamic layer is created that has all the appearances of a popup but isn’t at all, therefore it cannot be killed by popup stopping software.
Example:
