    So, guys and gals, who’s it going to be? The Denver Broncos or the Seattle Sea Hawks? My bet is on the Broncos. Yee-haw!

    I am going with Seattle to support my son who will be stationed at the Navy base there next month…

    Since I’m from New England I’m going with Seattle.
    Its going to be a tough day for manning with 3 turnovers.

    TRicky.

    Both sides are 13-3 overall, 7-1 at home, 6-2 on the road.

    Denver gains more yards per game, 457 v 339, and the difference is the passing game 340 v 202. Seattle has a small advantage on the ground 136 v 117.

    Offensively Denver score far more points 606 v 417, but if defence wins championships, then Seattle have advantage conceding 231 to Denvers 339.

    Denver have been superb but can they really expect to play their passing game in the frigid outdoor temperatures of New York in February?

    Seattle have also been very good, but the home field advantage has been a major reason for that.

    The vagaries of the NFL scheduling system means these sides have not met since 2010.

    =========

    In order to make a pick, I’m resorting to examining my spreadsheet, and overall there is only 11 ranking points between the two sides – Denver ahead 1053 to 1042 which equates to 1.1 game points.

    However, this will be a “strange environment” for both sides, and a nervous one, so I’m tempted to ignore home form and just look at away ratings.

    That has Denver leading 1048 to 1009, 39 ranking points lead, suggesting a margin of 3 or 4 game points, so I’ll take Denver on the ML and also Denver -2 ATS.

    not 3 turnovers but 4,
    can’t say I didn’t see that coming. Didn’t expect Seattle to score so many points though.
