    Now some lawmakers in Florida are also preparing plans to legalize and regulate online gambling — and restrict access to the gambling brands they choose, which could mean that online gambling affiliate marketing as we know it is pushed out of that populous state. Read more here.

    Again, this “Las Vegas” syndrome could have a devastating effect on gambling affiliates and off-shore brands. IMO, assuming that this comes to fruition, 3 things will determine gambling affiliates’ fate in this regard:

    1) Are these state-run gambling sites as good and as reliable as off-shore brands ?

    2) Will the notion of paying taxes on winnings sit well with gamblers, or will it turn them off, thus
    continuing the use of off-shore brands ?

    3) Will we see more Kentucky-like actions, where various off-shore brands and domains are blocked
    by local ISP’s ? If so, expect this sort of action to be challenged, and eventually wind up in the
    Supreme Court.
