Source: Sportingbet PLC –
Further to a previous announcement Sportingbet Plc yesterday announced that it had completed the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Danbook and Scandic Bookmakers.
Sportingbet already operates licensed businesses in Denmark under both its Sportingbet and Centrebet brands, and the combination of these businesses with Danbook and Scandic will give Sportingbet scale in an important, regulated market. Danbook and Scandic have also received licenses from the Danish gambling authority.
Anyway, I have been a little bit disappointed about the period after the new regulation entering into force. I was assuming that all Danes would have been spoiled with great promotions and bonuses, but rather there has been less bonuses than before…
I really don’t understand why these big companies spend so much money on entering this market, but don’t follow it up with some great campaigns? Only reason I can think of is that they have had some technical problems with the special solutions.

Perhaps they are (like you said) trying to get tech functioning correctly… Or… they may be testing the waters all together to see what bonuses can/should be offered.
Anyone know of some strong Danish-traffic promos that are performing well right now?

Well, the old Danish monopoly Danske Spil is actually the ones with the best promotions which is kind of wird… They offer no deposit casino and poker bonuses to new and exisiting players, but they do not have an affiliate program yet I have spoken with one of their employees and they might have a program up and running late February or March. It would be kind of wird to promote the old monopoly, but if they have the best promotions then this is what the players want…
The challengers to the old monopoly have had great promotions previously, but now that they are licensed to target Danish players, some of them have even changed their promotions into something that is worse than promotions for other nationalities. So perhaps there is actually less competition after the new regulation. Not really what I expected.
