Yeah, no problem hehe…
I think I will just contact the lawyer if it persists and take it from there because I’ve already left the CFF site anyways and focusing my attention elsewhere.
Some prizes were sponsored, others I funded, some were part of a deal between the casino and I, various other methods….
No i dont have a gambling license, I merely ran a gambling forum as a hobby originally and grew it up to 1300 members in a few months. I have the newsletter, and its on his blacklist site, he also emailed it and I got him to delete my details on most of the places .
Thanks for the help everyone!
I’m going to the beach today, gotta get ready soon because it’s gonna be over 80 degrees today!
yay

But you just said your details where still on his site.
So you were giving away cash prizes for people involved in gambling contests without a gambling license?
March 11, 2004 at 7:21 pm #646131AnonymousInactiveHuh?
I’m not sure what you are getting at about a gambling license or what that has to do with my problem at hand. I think I will take Dom’s and the professors advice and see about getting assistance from their referral
thanks
Matt:)
March 11, 2004 at 7:25 pm #646132AnonymousInactiveBecause you might want to be careful about involving lawyers when you were running gambling contests without a gambling licence.
March 11, 2004 at 7:30 pm #646134AnonymousInactiveIF that is what he was doing it is DOUBLY important to talk to a lawyer.
To my knowledge running FREE game tournaments has nothing to do with gambling.
If no money is taken from players they are not gambling or betting and you are not running a casino.
This is my personal opinion and not legal advice and everyone needs to speak to their own lawyer about this topic to get appropriate counsel.
March 11, 2004 at 7:32 pm #646135AnonymousInactiveWell I’m sure the lawyer would tell me so lol
but running a gambling contest is one thing.
I simply organized the event and saw that it
took place. The actual slot game wasnt even
on real money account it was with play money!March 11, 2004 at 7:37 pm #646136AnonymousInactiveBut the players had to sign up with the casino of course….
March 11, 2004 at 7:42 pm #646137AnonymousInactiveBut the players had to sign up with the casino of course….
Ah, so the casinos were running the tournament.
March 11, 2004 at 7:43 pm #646138AnonymousInactiveI dont know….im a little confused who he was running these contests….
March 11, 2004 at 7:54 pm #646139AnonymousInactiveWhich brings me back to the whole problem….what I am being accused of is ridiculous!
March 11, 2004 at 8:04 pm #646140vladcizsolMemberMatt you are sending more traffic to that site in one day then they would have probably gotten in a month. If I were you I wouldnt give them all the free publicity….
I bet Rick really loves you more now and will increase heat to increase HIS traffic again.
March 11, 2004 at 8:08 pm #646141AnonymousInactiveFrom what I can tell, you are being accused of not paying people for prizes that they claimed to have won in contests run by you.
Im sure if you contacted each and every online casino out there, they will tell you they get accused of that every day.
What I think happened is that you came up with a clever idea to get people to sign up to some online casinos where you are an affiliate. You were counting on your affiliate earnings to cover the costs of the contests you were running. And when that didn’t happen..you ran into trouble.
Look..im not bashing you here. But there seems to be a lot of inconsistancies in your story.
By all mean…hire a lawyer. Maybe he can straighten out this mess for you.
March 11, 2004 at 8:14 pm #646142vladcizsolMemberGuys I am moving this thread to free for all area….
March 11, 2004 at 9:46 pm #646146AnonymousGuestChips:
I read that thread last time you posted, and it made my blood BOIL then! I haven’t been back to read it, because I know I won’t be able to keep quiet with those hooligans!
If you want advice – it’s cheap and free – don’t read the forum. Take Spearmaster’s and Professor’s legal advice and have fun at the beach.
Hosts don’t put up with any sh*!, and writing his host a nice, eloquent letter outlining your dilema and suggesting that you may have no recourse but legal action may be all you need to do to get him shut down.
You may or may not want to post a calm, lighthearted disclaimer on your site regarding the whole thing – but then again, it’s more publicity for that looser.
Chin up, darlin, we’re on your side!
