InactiveEveryone at Casinomeister is an idiot. (see the thread)
Everyone at Winner Online is an idiot. (see the thread)
All I wanted to do was save this industry, and instead I get a grammar lesson and congressional debate… I get players bashing me… webmasters bashing me… Casinomeister bashing me…
Thank God for this board. The f***in’ ignorance out there is enough to give me an aneurysm.

InactiveI agree there is alot of ignorance out there. The Meister, I am a member I posted once, and was disappointed at the responses. Winner Online well never been there. I have had my fair share of slap arounds, a few on CAP. Once on a SEO forum a member was saying ” everytime you make a changes to your website resubmitt to Google” Now we all know this is bad advice. I responded by saying ” if you use this techinique you are quaranteed for failure” I got a good whipping the debate lasted for over two weeks. In the end, most agreed with my advice but man did I get hit hard. The funny thing, not one administrator stepped in to validate the argument.
So yes there is a B.S out there.
Criticism is always a good thing, gives you a opportunity to learn.greek39

InactiveI would have to respectfully disagree (with Integrity)… Yes, there were some reactions to misspellings and wording. However, the end result of the Casinomeister thread (the only one I read), was very positive towards the letter in general.
Personally, I think you let it get to you a little too quickly
There are many people, myself included, who think that spelling and grammer are of utmost importance when drafting a document of such importance.
Nobody is perfect, however, and mistakes will be made. Do not take offense at the remarks, just look at it as 20 editors helping you to make a second draft.

Inactivekwblue,
What you don’t understand is the history I have with these people.
If I were trying to rescue children trapped in a burning car by grabbing a brick to smash a window, these people would tell me to stop because the glass from the window may cut them… or they would debate if the car was really even on fire while the kids were dying inside of it… or they would think that because the car was a Ford that I must work for Chrystler and have some sick, underhanded motivation for making the rescue attempt.
I’ve dealt with these people for far too long. They are mean-spirited and short sighted and I was wrong to even try to reach out to them. A mistake I will not make again.
Grammar and spelling are importatnt, but they were not the issue. The whole thing was so so so stupid that words cannot even possibly begin to get a handle on it.
This industry is going down like a sinking ship, and these idiots are the rats that will be on the bottom with it.
==============================
On a lighter note… how is everybody today? :wavey:

InactiveNo, you are correct, I don’t understand the history.. But it seemed to me neither did anyone else until someone (mid-thread) brought up your former username there.
So – would the response have been any different? Who’s to say.
No matter what, the thread was turned around completely by several people… most importantly Casinomeister himself.
Seems to me that if your intent was to open ears, then your post was rather successful (even though you took a little heat in the beginning).
‘On a lighter note…’ – I am doing fine

InactiveSpelling, grammar the meister big deal. Its hard not to take it personally, things seem very trivial. Integrity your doing some great stuff, in my books your are a valuable person. I don’t want to say it because 90% of the people will disagree, but I could care less about the Meister.
Try not to get wanged out over the Meister, its just another forum spewing out the same old thing. I can sit around and argue get upset but for what? the way you view things the more things change, consider yourself lucky because you were insulted.
Look at this way, at least you started a interesting discussion. Yes the CAP forum I think of in a different way. I just like it, lots of interesting discussions with minimal shit hitting your face.
But if this really bothers you, take a stand throw some shit back. greek39

Too funny! (notice I used the correct “too”!)
Thanks so much for your comments, I appreciate them very much. Proff & I spoke about this at some length today… all things considered I feel ok about what’s going on…
..except for being out of work soon! LOL! :hattip:

J, I respectfully disagree with you. I think everyone is jumping the gun. I can see more chance of the second amendment being pulled , than the filtering out of all online gambling sites by US ISP’s.
As for the majority of the comments on Meister to your letter, I skipped the first nine pages of the thread and only made my opinions known at the back end. For what it is worth I think you are doing sterling work for at least us affiliates – Your thorough audit of FA has proved that.
If there are members of CAP here, that are not members of the APCW, I really do think you should all join.

InactiveWebzcas wrote:I can see more chance of the second amendment being pulled , than the filtering out of all online gambling sites by US ISP’s.First, thank you for your support in everything, it is greatly appreciated. :colgate: :colgate:
Second, many webmasters do not fully realize the serious nature of this bill. There are many different subjects covered, and many different provisions made. But the filtering by the ISP’s is just one part:
This bill will also criminalize being a casino webmaster in the US. The bill specifically makes it a crime to even have a link to a gambling site…
Orwell was only off by 22 years.

InactiveI cannot see it getting passed, seriously. What you have just said is included in the bill, makes me realise even more so it won’t. The first amendment would have to be turned on it’s head for it to become law.
This would not just affect gambling sites, but would set a very worrying precendent, whereby, the US Govt could censor anything and everything they please.
It sounds like the guy sponsoring this bill is a typical southern religious gun nut, of which I have far too many of these types, posting on my politics site. :huh2:
As for hosting my site, I moved it to the UK last year just in case the plug ever got pulled.

InactiveThey tried to censor internet porn and couldn’t and gave up entirely except for some voluntary blocks people and especially parents can install.
I would hope the same for our industry.
I don’t like the idea of minors gamling with daddy’s credit card either. Voluntary blocking is a good thing.

MemberQuote:They tried to censor internet porn and couldn’t and gave up entirely except for some voluntary blocksHow many hundreds of arrests have there been for kiddie porn? How many web hosts allow you to place illegal content such as snuff, kiddie porn, beastiality etc… on their servers? Dom people do NOT have free access to any type of porn that they wish. People ARE arrested all the time for having that type of material. Free speach does NOT protect illegal activity. It never has.
Content is also censored extensively. Someone please post links where I can purchase marijuana, cocaine, heroin, Methamphetamine or any of the other recreational drugs that MILLIONS of americans use daily. If the government and ISPs could never block access to something millions of Americans want then I should have easy access to any of these items under the bullshit scenario “Oh… they will never be able to block internet access to what people want…” Or the equally absurd argument “Theres too much money in the business to stop it online” Have they effectively stopped the purchase of illegal recreational drugs online? Isn’t THAT a $100 Billion Dollar business for the cartels? Oh yeah, you can go to guys in the bad areas of town and purchase these things, but you cant buy them online via ANY major ISP access.
Guys I dont want to see the new legislation passed either, but if it is, dont delude yourselves into thinking we can all just shrug this off and continue to operate with impunity or with any meaningful profits.

InactiveYou cited a bunch of illegal things.
I was talking about plain old porn.
There is not any parallel betweeen our posts.
They are trying to pass a law that would make online gambling illegal.
They tried to do the same with online porn years ago.
I think we are not talking about the same thing.

MemberIf they pass this legislation into law then ONLINE GAMBLING WILL BE ILLEGAL and you wont be able to access it. Much less promote it or earn a living doing so without going to the pokey.
I never thought I would see a law passed that allowed illegal search and seizure either. Then along came the “patriot” act and it passed.
Dont assume this law cant pass, it most certainly can. I hope it doesnt, but it could pass this time due to the abramoff situation and because a lot of these far right wing nut jobs in congress are running for re-election in the fall and would LOVE to say “Im pro family and am protecting your kids from online gambling. I am protecting people with gambling addiction from losing their life savings etc….
Its a frightening possiblity this time around. And the political climate is getting more right wing and extremist every election.
PLUS look at the make up of the supreme court now. Do you believe its majority is judges who embrace personal freedoms or right wingers who want to legislate morality?

InactivePersonally, I don’t see it happening… However, if it does, here is how it will come down:
1. Ban Gambling from the U.S.
2. Allow time while people complain. Also, since there are a ton of celebrities that spend a great deal of $$ online…. This will get pushed harder.
3. NOW – All the politicians get together and figure out how to line their pockets by re-establishing gaming online.
4. This leads to Vegas being allowed online while being taxed.
5. All americans now gamble via Caesar’s Palace, MGM/Mirage because they are ACTUALLY governed and legitimate.
6. Politicians have yachts.
Sounds like the recent gas hike, does it not??? Gas price increases, people are angry, gas goes down (but is still up 30% from original) and people are very happy.
Just my very naieve view of things to come (if this were to pass)
