Have another look at http://www.slottips.com and let me know what y’all think.
See the logo, generously provided by CAP’s Mike76.
Any suggestions or whatever are welcome regarding basic content/design.
Thanks in advance.

May 22, 2004 at 11:54 pm #649628AnonymousGuestOh yeah….that….it’s something I have to go back to and fix up.
I’m about 1/3 done on that site, actually. There is a lot more content I need to add, so it won’t be all casino ads.I like the slots history page.

I feel your logo doesn’t stand out, dark lettering against a mostly dark photographic background probably isn’t the best combo (especially as your background is a deep navy).
The simpler the better, basic shapes & lettering NO photos.
If redesigning it is out of the question, I would at least remove the 2 small ads at the top left & right. The left one especially draws too much attention away from your logo.
Sorry I’m going on.. but design is probably the only thing worth listening from me.

This doesn’t occur on the computer with the higher resolution but does it on the 600×800. You might want to look into it.

May 24, 2004 at 6:38 am #649655AnonymousGuestOk, I fixed that – the problem with the low resolution is that the code doesn’t allow for the 468 banners in the body.
As far as the banner goes, that’s easy enough to change – although I don’t know that I mind that the ad banners are more noticable. But in the interest of aesthetics, I will change it.
Thanks very much, all for your great advice and input. I appreciate it!
May 29, 2004 at 2:47 pm #649806AnonymousInactiveLooks good! Only beef I have is dark background and light text, this makes it difficult for anyone with any sight impairment to read.
I always loved dark backgrounds until I discovered this fact and it has bothered/coloured my design since as there is a some 50%+ I think people that have some sort of impairment.
May 30, 2004 at 10:28 pm #649858AnonymousGuestI hadn’t thought of that. Oh well….back to the drawing board. Now, should I do an off-white with black text…a white with navy text….white and black……….maybe tomorrow.
