I have no idea what to do about it all myself. I do turn them in to the engines as I see them. I am probably totally unaware of beig scraped most of the time. I never get around to checking…

I keep tryng to find someone to pay to notify me but no offers – every other thing I offer to pay for has instant takers here.

    I guess people are scared.

Dominique, I have offerd this in the past but was rejected, why? Do you think I am not the real article? People do fear what they don’t understand.

Most scrapers have shit for brains there are the odd ones I would be a little concerned with. I have alot of clout with hackers that I earned, honest ones and malicious ones. Just mentioning them is usually enough to send the little shit heads back to their shit holes.

Unless something is done, we are all going to lose in the end. I truly beleive that the are more scrapers than honest webmasters. I also beleive that some aff programs do the scraping themselves. I have mentioned this over and over again. But knowledge has no price tag, this is the internet, money cannot discriminate against the rich and the poor in this area.

I am up for the challenge because I know what I am doing, I fear not. Unless you process the knowledge, its probably best for the site holder to hide the fact he/she is the one who took out the scraper site. I am different I let be known because I do not fear. There is probably a scraper watching this thread right now.

I can cough up a whole list of scrapes of your site within a week. I am sorry if I felt I was being ingnored. Check your backlinks starting from the last page.greek39

I am very active on the scraping issue and yet I get no feedback to my post. I wonder why? is it “I forgot?” My intuition tells me something is up. I received a few odd PM’s last week could this be it? Having questions thrown at me by a CAP scraper I did not like. Trying to keep the peace I retracted everything I said about this person.

    Greek,

A wide ranging post about a lot of issues will often get no response. If you cover things in depth and leave people with nothing more to add – then they don’t add anything.

When you post lists of scrappers or offences then I cannot reply to it – what can I say?

I don’t think that you’ve been ignored … but simply that your posts state facts and don’t appear to be asking for input.

Keep up the good work mate.

    Hi all,

I’ve given this a lot of thought and for the time being I think that the best way to combat this stuff is contacting the sponsors that are advertised on the site and then perhaps being more proactive in our approach to sponsors that don’t move against the affiliate in question in a timely manner.

ultimately the problem will be solved not by anything we can do but rather by the SEs implementing some sort of program that determines which site had the content first and then if not punish the scraping sites; then for certain at least take out any pages with duplicate content from being in their results.

personally i fail to see why its been so hard for the SEs to have not already done something about this ever-growing problem because what it is going to result in if nothing is done to curb the onslaught: is that people are going to take the attitude I have taken in recent months which is why bother to write if its only going to give your competition more ammunition to use against you.

Which is almost certainly the case in my situation.

you see the problem with having a net that consists of nothing but stolen content is …. you guessed it: you run out of places to steal fresh content.

makes for a pretty dull net after a while.

so its in the SEs best interest to do the right thing and stop rewarding scraper sites but when will they realize this and make an effort?
