This time last year, people were forecasting that online poker was a growing market and promised to be a lucrative niche.

    Then Black Friday Happened.

Unfortunately, revenues are taking a nose dive for some of the online industry’s largest Online Poker Programs, while the DOJ continues on their tirade.

A great breakdown was recently outlined in this article.

Obviously, this is unnerving. Apparently, PokerScout is anticipating momentum will regain. Are their notions realistic or just some lofty goals?

Its the guys who didn’t diversify into other markets who felt the FT burn and nosedive in revenue.

I know 2 poker affiliates, who each have staff, offices, and before FT were doing over a million in rake a month.

After FT went down south, once lost all their FT rake, and is making only 200K in rake a month.

The other affiliate.. actually gained rake, players and revenue. For the last 4 years, they have basically stayed away from the US, as lucrative and as easy it may have been, they didn’t like the risks involved. Before FT went down, US players made up 1% of their rake. Losing that 1% didnt hurt at all, as affiliates lost their private deals, shut down, and moved on – they picked up some of their non US players and increased their rake.
