MemberWe are going to have to kick things into overdrive as they are scrambling to set up offshore corp right now.
They think this will protect them, but if we file now that wont matter. It will take a few more weeks to work out what they are trying to do…. Too little too late for them this time…..

InactiveActually,
from my understanding with the attorney, it really doesnt matter. But will confirm this tomorrow when I talk to my attorney.November 3, 2003 at 3:20 am #641030Anonymous
InactiveI guess I am slow. Is she threatening people now? I mean I understand she fu@$ed up the retreat and that is the latest uproar, but why is everyone consulting attorneys all of a sudden, again… did something behind the scenes happen I missed?
Are you just going to have the database destroyed?
Lawyers are the ones who always get rich!!! I should have been a lawyer!!!
I guess I’ve always felt that Cindy would just simply…. melt away after enough time, especially after her latest public embarassment.
Or is she so desparate she is threatening to use people’s posts against them now???

MemberHi Bernie
I think the recent Mohegan incident is just another brick in the wall that is gradually blocking off GPWA from the rest of our industry.I want my posts there removed because I do not wish to be associated with that type of behavior or business. The illusion of Professionalism or a Professional Organization has long since evaporated.
It’s not a matter of destroying a database. The GPWA will be intact. Quite frankly I have no idea why people think there is any value to old threads that are archived or no longer viewed anyway.
The real value of any message board is current discussions. These will go on and the remaining members can take full advantage of the exchange of information they always have. I just want my past conversations stricken as they no longer have value to the members and I dont want to appear to be supporting the current management. Look at it as my strong vote of no confidence.
That’s it for me and I think some other former members feel the same way.
I am hoping once this is complete we can move on. I would just as soon get on with business and forget that I made an error in judgement by staying there as long as I did.
I think there are a lot of really good people there being swept along with a bad sitaution, they want a change, but they are afraid to breakaway as they want to keep in touch with their peers. I can fully understand that, hell, it’s what kept me going there for eight or nine months more then it should have. But sooner or later people have to stand up and do the RIGHT thing. It was my time.
In the future I hope yor prediction is correct and that the nightmare will simply fade away once enough people wake up.
Time will tell.November 3, 2003 at 4:14 pm #641038Anonymous
InactiveI can certainly understand that… and the embarasment of the lack of funds at the most recent fiasco certainly tarnishes the GPWA name.
I really don’t have any fear either (as for the legality involved in my post), but would also like my name and posts removed from there.
If it does become a class action or anything where some of the not so wealthy webmasters might have their names included to be taken off thier computers, I’d love to be able to do that.
I still get emails from topic notifications and other garbage. But mostly I just don’t want that stuff (our posts) being passed around somehow where my handles are included.
Please keep us up to date, Prof!!
Sincerely,
BlackhawkNovember 3, 2003 at 4:36 pm #641039Anonymous

I agree, though I must add that my productivity leapt by an astounding amount after I got over my little skirmish.
The early days of the GPWA was a way to touch base with others in a lonely industry and share info. Those days I remember with the fondest of memories.

InactiveAgree Dean,
GPWA use to be awesome. Everyone got a long and were allowed to have freedom of speach without attacks. Those days are gone. It is really sad. Hope they come back for the members sake. Positive attitudes makes peopel more productive. Negative really hurts all.
Use to have a lot of fun in the boards. Plus a lot of good information came out of it.
But hey we can have fun here now….
Dean I guess what some people may not know is that you put a lot of time, effort and your heart into GPWA, so to you it is a personal disappointment to see change as it has.. Can understand that..

InactiveHey Everyone,
I am with the Professor on this one. One thing for sure is we all are better off without the GPWA. It’s time to move on. I am glad that my great friend the Professor has this board for all of us to meet and share ideas. Also have some great times together now and in the future. I wished I had left the GPWA several months ago when I had first felt the urge. I am also sorry that so many good people here were mistreated at the GPWA. One thing for sure is Slydam Insane days are coming. Have a great day all my friends here at CAP. -
