The EPT tour reached its last destination of 2008 in Prague with two RedKings Swedish pros both reaching the Final table of the 2000 Euro side event.
Ramzi Jelassi and Jonas Molander, both recently signed for poker room RedKings.com, started the final table with averages stacks, very eager to prove their skills after busting out of the main event 2 days previously.
Having a good start of the final table and with only five players left the two Swedish players were both very much in contention until Ramzi went in to a pot which proved to be decisive for his tournament.
Ramzi re-raised all in with pocket fives, only to find the current chip leader who was stealing a lot of pots, calling with pocket Kings. The board came A72 with all spades, Ramzi holding the 5 of spades but still trailing. Turn being the King of spades gives Ramzi the flush, but the opponent can still redraw with any pairing. River is an 8 and Ramzi took over the chip lead.
Jonas “Molle” Molander’s tournament ended in a 4th place, losing JJ vs. KQ all in pre flop and he had to hit the rail to see his good friend Ramzi continue to dominate the final table.
Once being heads up there was a close battle but it all ended when Ramzi called a bluff with AT on a 9-high board, his Norwegian opponent had J-high and Ramzis high card held up.
Ramzi took down 129 000 Euro with this win and after his biggest Live cash ever Ramzi was thrilled:
“It feels really good to nail a victory after many good finishes but no 1st place for a long time . It was really fun to have Jonas on the final table as well and also show our new sponsor RedKings that we can play the game”, Ramzi says with a smile.
“-We are of course very happy to have both guys on this final table and hopefully this is just the beginning for our two Swedish “Kings”, says RedKings Live Events Manager Jerry Land.
