I am a newcomer. I have redirected my domain to my affiliate web-site, using link-protector.

    Is it unfair?

Reciprocal links are unattainable, unless the outbound links are added to another web-site at another server.

http://www.linkmetro.com/ does not accept redirection of domains.

    What should I do?

Is it not possible to market redirected domains?

What about Search Engine Optimization, Google Optimization?

    -why should redirection be unfair?

-i dont understand “Reciprocal links are unattainable, unless the outbound links are added to another web-site at another server”

-“Is it not possible to market redirected domains?

you can hardly optimise a redirected page, unless using methods google does not accept

Why u use redirection anyway???? Make a normal page i would say!

If you redirect on a temp basis witnin your domain its okay, but to redirect from one domain to a completley seperate domain, can get you banned. If I understand you correctly.

Say if I took my current domain and had it and all its content redirect to another domain, yes Google will ban you. Google states it quite clearly a site who’s sole purpose is to redirect to anther site is a violation and is considerd spam.

I can’t seem to find the Google document in this regard.

http://www.namestick.com/ market a domain forwarding service. With a NameStick enabled domain you don’t need to spend a single dime on monthly hosting as they say.

    * It automatically forwards your domain to any link you want (an affiliate link or another website link) using advanced cloaking – resulting in as high as 327% increase in clicks over the regular affiliate link

    * It is cloaked (forwarded inside an invisible frame) which means instead of just redirecting to the website, YOUR domain name STICKS in the browser’s “address” bar. Finally, you can permanently hide your affiliate, free website page or distributor website from your visitors – all while tracking your sales and commission.

    (ref. http://www.namestick.com/ )

(But the same is possible to do free at http://www.godaddy.com using masking when forwarding a domain).

But if Google ban domains which are redirected (forwarded), it should not be recommended. (Apart from redirection to affiliate-sites, it saves you web-hosting costs if you have a lot of domains, but only one hosting account)

    Any comments?
