Got a Question for all who promote Poker sites . . .
I have numerous casino sites, but never promoted poker until recently.
Didn’t understand the game . . still don’t! :confused:Question:
Is is normal procedure NOT to get paid on tournament play?
I sent a player…player deposited $800…I am making ZILCH from this player!Upon inquiring I was told that the player is very active in tournaments…but, I do not get paid on tournament play??
Excuse Me . . . I sent a player to the casino…player is spending money at the casino…I get absolutely nothing? Does this make sense to anyone?
Please explain!
October 8, 2004 at 6:22 pm #655836vladcizsolMemberIt appears to be normal…. And yes it does SUCK!
I personally play ONLY tournaments (for decent money each month) and I know its what most hardcore players concentrate on.
We are losing revenue as affiliates, but as far as I know all the poker rooms operate like this.
You know what, they dont even bonus Tournament players. Which also sucks. I was given a bonus by one of the larger poker rooms but they wouldnt let me collect it until I spent four hours on open tables which I hate.
October 8, 2004 at 6:24 pm #655837AnonymousInactiveI thought I saw a post here from Party Poker not long ago where they said that the $1 of the $10 + $1 was considered rake for purposes of affiliate commissions?
October 8, 2004 at 6:28 pm #655838vladcizsolMemberWe better ask Satya then because Party Poker doesnt count tournament play as action towards bonuses. Not even the $1 rake on a $5 table.

October 8, 2004 at 6:59 pm #655847vladcizsolMemberThanks Randy
I figured because they dont bonus on Tournament play they might not track it either.Ok, so Party Poker pays I wonder about the other poker rooms….
October 8, 2004 at 7:25 pm #655852AnonymousInactiveEvidently, based on what I read in the other thread on this same topic, Income Access doesn’t pay rev share on the vig on the tournaments. (Which is disappointing to say the least.)
October 8, 2004 at 11:42 pm #655865AnonymousInactiveI had no idea that most poker rooms dont pay on tournaments. This is especially disheartening considering I have a poker tournaments website. Does anyone know if rooms powered by prima pay on tournament play?
October 21, 2004 at 9:15 am #656533AnonymousInactivePokerChamps claims they will pay out on tournament buy ins as well.
“Yes – buy-ins of a tournament will contribute to the bonus/affiliate program as well as real money games.”
They’re still in beta, but I love their software and hope their program doesn’t suck in the long run. I’m building a site around ’em after all…
Their tech support has kicked ass during the beta. If they pay that sort of attention to detail going forward, I think they’ll be pretty damn slick.
Cheers!
