This is a strange one.
Just updated my Betfred banners and noticed that they weren’t working properly (ie displaying but not redirecting).
The problem seems to arise when I copy and paste the tracking code from within Firefox. If I do that, the section that should be:
‘…e.asp?e=205&id=2364&sub=default…’ (as it shows in IE6)
displays as:
‘…e.asp?e=205&id=2364⊂=default…’ in Firefox 3.0.3
with the result that the banners don’t redirect properly.
If I pick up the code from IE it’s ok and if I manually change the code it works fine.
Thinking it was something I’d done, I’ve checked other people’s sites and the problem is there, too.
Not sure where the problem / responsibilty lies, but if you’ve recently picked up some tracking code from within Firefox, I’d check it urgently to see if it works ok.

Thanks for bringing attention to this matter. I am in the process of looking in to what the problem with Firefox is. I have checked myself and get the same problem so have sent this across to the tech department of our affiliate software provider to look in to as it seems to be a recent problem that has arisen.
I’m hoping to get an answer this afternoon and will post their reply as soon as I get it.
In the mean time I would urge all Betfred sports affiliates who have obtained their banner codes through Firefox to check that their banners are displaying and clicking through properly and not to use them if they see the symbol ⊂ in their banner code. For the time being it would be best to create all sports banner codes through Internet Explorer if possible.
I will get back to you with a reply regarding the Firefox issues ASAP.
If you need to contact me directly my email address is [email protected]
Kind regards,
