Dear CAP and APCW members…
We have just concluded the first part of an independent test of the Fortune Affiliates new tool, which is bundled with their downloads.
The new “Fortune Lounge Personal Messenger” has serious issues with tracking of affiliate codes. After testing this new device, we have what we consider proof that it will result it the hijacking of affiliate commissions by Slick Street.
We have tested this over several days, we have taken screen shots of your reports at Fortune Affiliates, and of our registrys with the embedded cookies with affiliate codes and Slick Street codes.
We know without a doubt that a player referred by our tags will show up on our Fortune Affiliates tracking. However, we also know without a doubt that if this player uses the “Fortune Lounge Personal Messenger” and elects to play at another Fortune casino, the cookie is tracked to Slick Street and the tracking does NOT show up on the affiliate stats.
We are reasonable certain that this contributes to the deterioration of affiliate commissions we are seeing from our members.
I am waiting to hear back from Fortune before pursuing this further.

Then you can download one of the casinos within there
To check the tag if you dont know how…
go to start click on run
type in regedit
click on edit and then find
type in thumper and you will find microgaming
click on the casino and look at the tagAugust 24, 2005 at 2:39 am #671534AnonymousInactiveHey J Todd,
Thank you very much for this information. It does not surprize me much as I have always said that FA shave and suck. It seems that some programs are just crooks and always will be.August 24, 2005 at 4:53 am #671538AnonymousInactiveHey Allan! :la-de-da:
I have to say that Ronda turned me onto this… I went through the process myself, and sure enough it’s true.
I have seen a steady decrease in commissions over there this year… and it’s my understanding that this device was implemented around the same time… it would certainly explain a lot.
The saddest thing is I get called from Fortune asking me what I am doing differently that’s destroying my earnings. Well, since the traffic is steady, the source of the traffic is the same, and the downloads & converted players are all steady, I just wonder what could be happening??!!
I admit, the poor numbers are probably not all from this new “buddy”… it is summer and back to school. But I am convinced it has at least contributed to my utterly dismal numbers compared to what I used to make there.
Can someone fill me in on what these messenger type things do…
In simple terms, rooster, they are not tracking our affiliate codes properly. A player you convert at Casino #1 might use the “buddy” to open an account at Casino #2. If they do, then you, my friend, will never see a dime of commission from Casino #2…
