:wavey: Aiite, I have a PR5 page, and I would be happy to put some links on it, in exchange for my link on your pr5 page.
February 7, 2004 at 7:16 pm #644490AnonymousGuesthmmmmmmmmmm…the overwhelming response is heartwarming………*sniffle*
ok, anyone with a PR5 – past, present or future
I realize google has played some dirty tricks on PR’s the last go around, so anyone whose site WAS a 5 or more and will be again……
What I would like to do is have a few choice links exchanged on my home page.
Also, at http://casinogeek.net/gamblinglinks.html there’s a link page hand done – no linksmanager – which has a better PR than the linksmanager pages. I’ve taken the liberty to moving some CAP members to that page – those that were in the linksmanager pages already.

March 30, 2004 at 4:20 am #647109AnonymousGuestFront page, on the left nav bar, under “recommended links”
March 31, 2004 at 10:32 am #647158AnonymousInactiveI wouldn’t use links from the home page, it is too risky since it is a red flef for google, go with a link exchange directory on you site, there is an easy and FREE one at http://www.link-swapper.com
hope this helps
/JanetMarch 31, 2004 at 3:43 pm #647167AnonymousGuestThanks, Janet.
But do you really think google penalizes for that? I was just thinking that our pages are full of links out to casinos, so how would google differentiate between a sponsored link and a link partner.
I’m not arguing, I really want to know. I sure don’t want to be penalized by google – too big a source of free traffic for me!
Link-swapper looks good. Think I’ll try them out with my new site. Using Linksmanager for the others, and the cost is starting to add up.
March 31, 2004 at 3:48 pm #647168AnonymousInactivewhen you do RECIPOCAL linking from you homew page it singnals artificial network to increase PR.
This is why I am using this free link exchange manager, and I do agree when you have many sites and you need a link exchange solution you just can’t efford this extra cost, but link swapper is just one of the applications that I choose there are other free ones in the market, I just want to the one most of the webmaster I know were recomending
/JanetMarch 31, 2004 at 3:51 pm #647169AnonymousInactiveWhat I’ve read on webmaster message boards and in varying search engine discussions and newsletters, is that Google asks you to avoid linking with “bad neighborhoods”. i.e., Link farms. I think (and someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) that front page links are not only okay but are probably very beneficial provided that they’re topic-appropriate and limited to a few useful sites.
When I search google to see what other gambling sites are doing, most of the sites I see in the top ten or twenty have front page links with other related sites. So I’d be surprised if they’re doing a blanket penalization on people with front page link exchanges.
March 31, 2004 at 3:53 pm #647171AnonymousInactivemost of these sites disapeared after the last crawl ….
I suggest you take a 2nd look.
/JanetMarch 31, 2004 at 7:00 pm #647180AnonymousInactiveHi, Janet-
I did take a look at the top ten listings for a gambling related term, and about half the listings had front-page link exchanges with other sites. I’m not saying they’re in the top ten “because” of those links, but they’ve apparently not been penalized for them either.
I could be wrong though…
