I have some sites that used to see nice traffic and google has pretty much stopped sending traffic because it is not longer in top 10 for many keywords… not even phrase of domain name. It appears if i type the .com and all pages are indeed indexed. Also cached copies are fresh.
However, on analytics i see 1 visit per day from google. Same phrase always and from yahoo and bing i may bring about 35.
Which is better?
1) deindex the effected site, take content and upload to new site (new domain) start fresh.
2) buy an old domain with PR 2-3 and upload content to that site and start fresh.
I dont see how it will recover and time is money.
Anyone try this as an option? or another?
November 20, 2012 at 10:21 pm #829945wbprofitsMemberit also depends the problem from which panda or penguin . each update there are “fixes” for that could be alot easier
November 21, 2012 at 4:04 am #829951AnonymousInactivevery confident it is penguin and getting links taken down will not be an option….
is the solution to get new links to dilute the money keyword anchors?
What worked for you?
November 21, 2012 at 4:26 am #829952wbprofitsMembercan you be sure it was the Penguin #3 update Oct 5th 2012 or the page layout update a day or 2 later?
if it was that cute but smelly penguin then diversify the money anchor keywords , even throw in some “generic” keywords..
I have only been affected with a one page EMD with duplicate content from my other site in a non gaming niche (ranked top 5 for 3 keywords over 1 year with actual copied content )
November 21, 2012 at 4:36 pm #829970AnonymousInactivewell, i was hit from the first penguin came along and then some more with #2 and #3
I have added generic keywords and such 2 months ago and have not seen an improvement…
November 21, 2012 at 4:45 pm #829971wbprofitsMemberMaybe not enough of them , remember how long it too to make all the original over optimized links !
November 22, 2012 at 8:06 pm #830022TradMemberThe main thing Google hates right now, is over use of anchor phrase, either in links or on-page. If you can look into this, and rectify it, in the long term, Google will reindex. I think what you have suggested are both, very drastic measures.
November 23, 2012 at 4:32 pm #830040CasinoGemMemberI think i might have avoided pengiuin some how i was offline for a month and crawl stats are back to what they were, i have seen a drop in search queries though.
touch wood but
November 25, 2012 at 1:23 pm #830059jackcksnMemberIm am using for intern and extern links at least 3 words in the anchor text, sometimes whole sentences.
After some months it looks for me, that Google can “see” if you have good content or not.
Very strange but good for me because i want to give my readers good content only.Leopold
November 25, 2012 at 5:32 pm #830062AnonymousInactiveI just started noticing the same thing that casinotime is talking about. I have been on page one with google since the mid 2000’s and have just noticed ( 2 to 3 weeks ago) that those same keywoords / phrases have me on page two, while it was a great run it does hurt big time.
I made no changes that I believe would affect why this happened. I think before I go nuts trying to change things up that I am going to wait till after “The Big Game” before I start looking at any changes.
I will say this got me off my butt and I am actually looking into several new websites to have up and running soon.

Is it possible that your site was not hit by a Google filter? But rather, the competition have started doing more advertising, or maybe you have more competitors for that keyword? It’s always hard trying to work out exactly what to fix because Google never says anything. Google is like a passive aggressive girlfriend that likes to punish behind the scenes :rollover:

Of course that can be an issue as well, I would never count that out. There are just so many people here in CAP and other forums as well that are having conversations about this, but yea, you are right, other sites out performing me is always very possible too.
Who knows, maybe being on top with some keywords and phrases has me a little complacent. That’s why I look at this more a blessing in disguise. It has me back at the drawing board again.
