WARNING
I have a story to tell which is not quite complete because we not have to go to legal matters, so that could take awhile.
About 4-6 weeks ago, we (http://www.RoundersRadio.com) had a spammer come into our chat room and start spamming in private messages all of our users with an affiliate code for Poker 4 Ever (RakeMakers.com). Our moderator had someone let her know that this was happening and she politely let him know that this was not allowed. He then started arguing with her that he could do whatever he wanted and started to make threats. She then kicked him from the chat room.
She let me know of the issue. Not to long later he was back doing it again. I then IP banned him. The next day he had changed his IP or went through a proxy and was back again with a new alias. Banned again and again and again and again.
In the meantime I had sent an email to RakeMakers support about this guy and what he was doing. A couple days later the affiliate contacts me in our chat room and says he is sorry, RM contacted him about the complaint and he says he won’t do it again. (RM never replied to my email)
Couple hours later he was back at it. We then censored the word Poker4Ever and many combinations. He has posted harassment comments in the chat, in our forum and by phone. It has gotten to the point that we have called the police in his area and they paid him a visit. Few hours later he was back again.
I have 53 pages in a word document of his spam and harassments.
I am trying not to make this to long of a story, so in short, we have sent 3 emails to the affiliate support with no reply. I have contacted their player support twice with no follow up (the last time was just a short while ago) and still no action on their end. If they would have stepped up and taken some action on this affiliate weeks ago, it MAY have saved me a whole lot of time on my end. Also, if they are not willing to reply or deal with this total lack of respect for affiliates, I really don’t see how we could expect their player side to be any better. I would recommend staying far away from this company that doesn’t seem to have any integrity.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions on anything I am overlooking that I can do to get this nut job out of my site for good, please let me know
IMO there are a growing number of online casinos and poker rooms out there who are experiencing hard times and, unfortunately, will tolerate spamming by their affiliates in a desperate attempt to bring in new players. I’m not sure if they are aware or even care that in the long term this will make their ship sink even faster.
