I was wondering if any of you were interested in starting a poker room to have on our sites? I figure that if we pool are visitors maybe we can get a few poeple playing and bring in more traffic. Anyway if your interested take a look at this xxxhttp://wagerlabs.com/forums/

Let me know if you want in.

Also I am trying to get some gpwa members in on this so if we can’t play nice don’t respond.

    I have one here:

    http://www.gamesandcasino.com/casinogames.htm

towards the bottom. I am fixing to run tournies on it. I wish some others had the same and we could pool players and prizes.

You can get them at http://www.verticalgames.com

What is nice about this is it is made for casinos. Everything is already there.

The one I have is a texas hold’em room with tournament capabilities built in. I would love to find a few more people to have one and us to cooperate on it – I have trouble getting enough people in there at all hours of the day. It would make a lot of sense to form a group of webmasters offering this.

The room is really nice – you can get a group together and go to http://www.gamesandcasino.com/casinogames.htm and scroll to the bottom and give it a whirl.

The designer and owner is Virtual Games.com. I have tested all their games for some time now and they are flawless.

Poker rooms will be happy to provide prizes for the tournies and I am ready to go with this.

These games are very sticky and I can’t wait to get the Texas Hold’em going.

Well the idea was anyone that wanted could run a free poker room on there site through a simple script that you would put on one of your pages. I would have provided the server and we all could have pooled our players and made one big poker room. What was nice about this idea was every one would of had there own back in were they could track there players, costomize the look of there room and added there own banneres ect.

The bottom line is we could have all had our own costom looking poker room, tract all all the players info, added our own banners ect, and shared a player base so that all our rooms seemed bigger.

Well, looks like the both of us had the exact same idea, as all of the above applies to the vertical games also. They have the server and one does pay a fee. Everyone has their own banners, gets access to email and other info on their own players (you decide what they input to register), and has access to backend for their own instance. Each instance of the game is totally seperate and nobody can access anyone else’s backend.

Installing it is also just some code. One can customize one’s room.

So, I guess we have the exact same idea.

I wonder what criteria would make one better than the other? I suppose cost, ease of controls (vertical is easy enough for a tech idiot like me) and the feel of the room. And/or?

Why would a poker room put up the prize pools when we could be doing tourneys on their sites?

Just trying to see the reasoning for this all….

These are not tourneys on the poker room sites – these are tourneys on OUR sites. The room is a free room and it is on OUR OWN sites.

It keeps our visitors “at home” and we decide which rooms we want to push and let those rooms provide prizes – usually free rolls at THEIR rooms.

It creates a community on our own sites and keeps the players coming back and looking at our ads etc.

We have a ton of players, our poker forum is 2200+ but since we do freerolls that are 100% sponsored by other rooms already (with cash payouts), I can’t think of a drawing card for me. Otherwise would be very interested. It’s obviously to our benefit to do this, but I can’t imagine why my players would want to do this. If I’m missing something, let me know.

All play on our sites would always be free and free rolls would not be provided as welcome bonus type thing, but would be like $100 plus and open to anyone who wins the tournie. Not just as a welcome or retention bonus.

Perhaps you have special deals for your players with the rooms already and this is then not of interest to you.

Dom, I think you’re right. That’s what I was trying to figure out, if it is beneficial to me at all.
